Shallow Point Tampa Fishing Charters — Attraction in Tampa

Myself and 5 friends make a trip to Orlando each year for work, and make plans to arrive early for a day of deep sea fishing out of Cocoa Beach. This year when we arrived in Orlando on Friday night, less than 12 hours before our charter, our trip was cancelled due to high winds. I made a few calls and ended up getting referred to Captain Dave around 8:30pm, who agreed to charter our group for an inshore trip the next day. Captain Dave even agreed to take us a for a few extra hours to match the arrangements we had made previously.

We headed out the next morning, and Captain Dave had us to the fish immediately. The second line in the water landed a small Redfish. I immediately re-baited my line and caught a Snook on my next cast. Even though 3 of our members were inexperienced, Captain Dave made sure that each of us had a chance to land a few fish. He busted our chops all day and made sure we were laughing and enjoying ourselves. All in all, we caught close to 80 fish, mostly Snook, Reds and Trout. We also caught a Puffer, a Tampa Bay Gar and even a Sea Gull. AND - the rookie of our group landed a 40-POUND REDFISH!

Dave at Shallow Point fishing is the man. Three buddies and myself called Dave up while we were in town for 3 days. We asked him rates and how long he charters for - with a quick response we went for about a 6hour charter the next day.

I can’t express this enough - just listen to what he says. The first stop Dave took us to we threw 3 lines in the water. With no bites after 2min Dave said I don’t like this lets get out of here.

He proceeded to take us farther along the coast and said this is the spot. Dave baited a line casted it and as he was handing it to be there was already a bite. Do as the Captain says and your sure to have a blast - he filleted up the 8 largest Spanish Mackerel we caught. Told us how to cook it and we all enjoyed more fish tacos than we could eat.
