Alright, so.. I can't stress this enough. I get paranoid giving my phone to someone to rip apart and swap things out. Charger port stopped working, contacts on the module got worn down to nothing. Had this same job done in the past by another shop on Main St in wareham with another phone I had, ended up shorting out my SIM module in the process and the guy ran out the back door 15 minutes before closing to avoid me.
I brought my phone in to cell surgeon, the guy was very friendly. Im a tech geek myself, I build PCs and dabble in coding as a hobby, so I kind of poked and prodded the conversation to see how knowledgeable he really was. I was impressed. His customer service was great. He stood right up front, did everything right in front of me, we chatted the whole time, he definitely showed good character. He slapped it all back together, charged me just under 100 bucks which I feel is reasonable for the new module and labor time, and I was out the door in about 20-30 minutes from the moment I handed it to him.
All things considered, I give him a 9/10. Truthfully, only constructive feedback I can give is he rushes a little bit to speculatively give a diagnosis before knowing for sure. But that's okay, I'm a professional diesel tech, I do it too, we all do it in the service industry. Tech can be finnicky and hard to pinpoint the exact issue at times and it's very easy to jump to conclusions and it ends up that sometimes chasing different possible leads when theres an unknown malfunction can be productive to your own skill growth, so I can't even say it's a bad thing he did that. Guess you could say he was open to other possibilities. As a tech, I can respect that.
At the end of the day, phones fixed, it was done quickly and professionally, he did a great job, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy phone/pc/tablet repair shop. I had found him on the Internet three months ago because I had a broken screen and he pricing was unbeatable to replace my screen, get a case, and a tempered glass screen protector! Three months later, about a week ago from today my phone suddenly stopped working, it randomly just had a black screen however, I was able to know if someone was calling or texting but I could not see them. I just left Elmar at Cell Surgeon Taunton and he fixed my phone within a half an hour For a completely different issue that I was unaware of, he also provided me with a new screen protector as well as a clip for added protection. Somehow, there was water damage and he was able to fix it. He was very fair with his pricing to fix a completely different issue and provide me with all the extra benefits and promised to warranty his work and advised if anytime I have a problem with it going forward to see him and he will take care of me. Read moreTo preface, I did not end up working with Cell Surgeon but wanted to share my experience. I went in to repair the screen of an 4th gen Ipad Air. I'm an artist and that is my primary way I do my work. When I entered the store, I asked if they do that sort of thing, and I received the response "I try to." That was the moment I chose to not work with Cell Surgeon. However I didn't want to be rude and continued speaking with the worker.
I pulled out my ipad, and the screen is proper shattered (it fell face down onto tile.) The clerk saw it and went "Oh expensive." He typed in the information and then asked "The question is, how much are you willing to spend?" If I wasn't already clocked out of working with this place then that statement would've done it. He told me he could maybe get it done in 5 days or potentially sometime the next week. I apologized that I needed it sooner and said I was going to look for a second opinion at other local shops.
Again this was only my experience and the job I was requesting was a big one. I was under the impression they could handle this job but I didn't feel comfortable leaving my tablet with them after our conversation.
