Hi, everybody! My name is, Attila Pride! I'm 44 years old, overweight and diabetic and where orthopedic shoes and have eyeglasses. My body needs to exercise. After going to a dietitian, now, I understand how to eat the correct foods and me exercising would benefit to my health. I had the opportunity to join the YMCA because my mother wanted me to attend water aerobics classes with her. Therefore, after joining the water aerobics class, I noticed another opportunity because I love karate to join the kickboxing class at the YMCA. While, attending kickboxing and water aerobics classes, I have noticed there are many different activities that I could enjoy taking to improve my health like their free weights / dumbbells / exercise equipment in the gym. I have not yet gone to the gym to exercise, but, yet, as of now, my two best classes are kickboxing as my top priority and water aerobics is next on my list of priorities. The YMCA is not just for children because I have a college associate's degree in general studies. I have seen a lot of people around the YMCA attending classes. The YMCA seems to look like it is a good place to make friends. Hopefully, I can find myself a long-term good, compatible, healthy, intelligent, humorous, considerate, religious, strong girlfriend that is interested in the same things that I am interested in at the YMCA. Please, try to be healthy by joining the YMCA, have a...
Read moreUnfortunately I can't give zero stars. This place is an absolute disaster unless you're there for the pool or child care, which seems to be all they care about; whatever brings them the most money. Freezing cold showers. Tiny, decrepit, and unsafe weight room, which of course was also downsized for more kid space. Equipment in both the weight room and main fitness area missing bolts and falling apart. Treadmills not cared for and slip which is a knee injury waiting to happen. Not to mention endless lawsuits waiting to happen for that and everything else. Unsupervised children everywhere; to include my wife's car getting hit with a basketball multiple times in the private lot out back last week. All staff (fitness, lifeguards, front desk, etc.) constantly on their cell phones and not doing a single bit of work. As for the credibility of this review, I worked at this Y for 9 years (held to much higher standards then), have a BS in exercise science, worked for years as a personal trainer, worked on fitness equipment for over a year, and currently manage a gym. If you must go to a Y, do yourself a favor and make the drive up 44 to Middleboro, since Taunton is an absolute...
Read moreThe YMCA Camp/After school Program staff and their directors Are AMAZING! They all went above and beyond to make it possible for my son to get involved in the program. Since he started, he has been excited every single day to see his friends and counselors. He has formed relationships and is thriving socially after a very rough year. They are truly here for the kids and stand by the Y's mission of develop strong, spirit, mind and body. I can not express how grateful I am for the experience we have had with this program. My son has already made so many connections and I know he will continue to grow and learn with continued involvement. Thank you to Roman, Brittany, Miss Jess, Miss Louann, Jamari and everyone at the Taunton YMCA for your hard work and dedication to...
