I shop at this meijer 3 sometimes 4 times a week. We come in here so often that the workers know our faces by heart. I’ve never had an issue here until last week. I shopped over 2hundred dollars in groceries. While scanning and bagging I ran out of bagging space and told my 15 year to go and grab an empty cart for the scanned and bag items because our current cart wasn’t able to hold them yet. After checking out I walked out with the original cart which only carried about 4 bags while my daughter walked behind me with extra cart we used to put the majority of groceries in. As my daughter comes out the cart stops and locks. The older yt man with the long grey hair and wears a hat approaches my daughter and stated the cart stopped because she didn’t go through a check out line. Inquiring that she bagged the groceries and didn’t pay for them. So he asked her what register she came from and she shows him then he proceeds to demand a receipt! I had to turn around to be able to provide the receipt that was literally arms length long and totally over 200 dollars obviously with all the groceries we carried. After he varies the groceries were basically not stolen he presses a button on a controller in his hand that releases the cart. At that point we began to proceed to our car and load groceries. However this didn’t sit well with me because if I needed a cart to gather cans and bottles from the car and I walked in to get a empty cart to bring to the car it wouldn’t have stopped at the door because it hadn’t been through a check outline so it wasn’t the cart. It was this man locking the cart because he thought that my daughter had stolen them and when he realized she had not he didn’t even apologize and so the next time I saw him he greeted me and I confronted him about accusing of being thieves and not having the decency to apologize after he made a mistake. He gave me nasty attitude and proceeded to say carry on still lying stating the door stopped the cart. I just was offended because again we shop here so often, hell I’m a rewards member why on earth would think that I would bag hundreds of dollars of groceries and not pay for them. There is always two workers in the check out lane even they confirmed to him we shopped and paid because he decided to double check after we walked out and I came back into the store to inform him that my daughters was the cart I asked her to get because it was an extra cart we needed so it didn’t go through the check out line. The other staff members apologized but not this guy. I asked him to never greet me or my family again until he apologized for falsely accusing us of theft at a store we freakin love and visit damn...
Read moreI usually go to this Taylor Meijer because it's so close to my house I went late at night this time (less people, less standing & waiting forever in line to check out) to do my grocery shopping. I had no issues & I was able to find everything that I wanted and the cashiers were nice. But adding this comment also. I have been going to this Meijer for over 3 years and I have seen some of the most incompetent cashiers in there. And their store can be messy and also their bathrooms. I went to customer service recently there to receive some money from Western Union and I stood in line for 20 minutes while two people behind the counter couldn't seem to get whatever this gentleman was at the counter needed done. I don't know if the one girl needed the help from the other woman to get the transaction completed but it was ridiculous to stand there that long, I have problems with my back add my feet and I was in terrible pain by the time that I left there. Anyway when I got up to the counter I asked her if her Western Union was working, and she said that it was, if they could sign into it. So she tried numerous times to put the password in and it would not work 😡 basically a waste of my time. I left there and went to the Woodhaven Meijer at Allen and West Road. That store gets a five-star from me. So much more cleaner and the ladies at customer service were the best! very friendly! I had no problems getting my money through Western Union there. I did walk through the store to do a little shopping and was quite impressed how clean it was and how much newer everything looked including the freezers in the frozen section. The Woodhaven store is probably 15 minutes from me and I believe that I'm going to start shopping there and stop using the Taylor Meijer. I have had issues there over the three years that has upset me tremendously and I need to just drive a little farther and be happy...
Read moreEdited after 4 years - Now 4 stars- HUGE improvements since they got rid of the trash. Love this place now. The people are such good quality people. Thank you for making it a better place-
Previous post below from a 1 star-
The organic fruits and veggies here are absolutely gross. This isn't a one time issue, this is a 3 or 4 times a month issue. Check out the pics I posted, there's so much fur between the packs of fruit that I could make a pet out of it. Also, just went there this morning Sept. 27th and the packages of organic sliced carrots expired Sept. 24th. Happens all the time.
Not to mention the older white lady with the short platinum blonde hair, that has some of the worst customer service skills on the planet. Between her and the younger white girl with the blonde hair that's always pulled back in a pony tail or up in a clip, when those 2 are working together to cover the self check out, be prepared for a real treat because they act like bouncers at a hard core biker club. Seriously, I feel like I should be throwing up gang signs when I walk past them. That younger blonde always has a stupid attitude look on her face like she's ready to throw down. Unreal. Grow up little girl, ya ain't as hard as you think.
And let's not forget about the guy who works in the meat department that doesn't wear gloves, touching all over raw meat, then comes out and touches over other products. Yeah, nothing like spreading bacteria. I was so horrified that I contacted the store manager!
I really slowed down on shopping here. When they stop selling furry and moldy organic fruit, get rid of the biker club bouncers, and properly educate their employees on how to handle raw meat, maybe I will return as a full time shopper....until then Kroger now has the majority of...
