She tried to keep my son from getting his prize with his tickets. DON'T BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE! FIND ANOTHER LOCATION. This is the worst place I've ever been to and it's not the 1st time I've had a bad experience but it's the first time that the behavior was this appalling. Bad enough that i'm writing a review, this one really topped it, and I will never be going again. We came in for my son's birthday & spent at least $70, we were having a good time, even though a lot of the games took our money and didn't let us play. We get to the end of all of our tokens and it's time to go up and pick their prizes, we had almost 700 tickets and my kids were really excited to pick. We got up to the price counter and the woman was talking to some of the other employees about what they needed to do to close up. It was not closing time we hadn't been there over the time they said the store closed or the time they said the prize counter closed. After saying excuse me and being ignored, she finally turned around and without saying anything else looked me in my eyes and said "the prize counter is closed, " Immediately turned back around to talk to her employees and said nothing else. Even the employees couldn't believe what she had just done. I politely said , excuse me, again and she turned around let out a big sigh, rolled her eyes, and said "what?" I said, " It's my son's birthday, we drove a long way to get here & spent a lot of money. " She said, " Well, I don't know what you want me to do, the tickets are good for a year, come back another day before we close. " The look on my kids faces, I can't even begin to tell you how heartbreaking it was. They were devastated but didn't say a word. We got outside & I decided this wasn't happening. I went back inside & said, "we can't come back & I can't leave without their prizes. Besides the fact that I spent a lot of money here, to turn away two children who just want to get a few prizes, is unacceptable." She begrudgingly let them pick prizes, ignored them every time they said please & thank you & rushed them even when they weren't taking that long. I'm absolutely disgusted in her behavior & at the fact that upper management would let someone like this be in charge. Please don't ever go here. For...
Read moreUnlike many of the other nickel arcades in Utah, this one has very few skill based, ticket awarding games. What is there is dirty and in disrepair.
About half of the space is filled with your traditional video games and pinball machines, which are fun and nostalgic, but not a strong attraction for ticket seeking kids.
The rest of the arcade is filled almost entirely with games of chance, where you do nothing but thumb in nickels and hope for a payout. Some of these games are patterned directly after slot machines and the roulette wheel you'd find in a casino.
Also like a casino, the atmosphere here was permeated with the smell of smokers, apparently lighting up outside before coming in to hit up the "nickel slots". It wasn't unusual to see a couple adults sitting in front of a favored machine, methodically plunking coins in, hoping the large pile of nickels inside would tip in their favor and spit out a stream of tickets.
I'm someone who only visits arcades with my kids, and we generally prefer to spend our coins on actual games, with the possibility of winning tickets. There's little of that here. Even the classics such as Skiiball were grossly out of order, as well as half the controls on the more modern "fishing" and "flappy bird" arcade games.
If you're looking for somewhere kinda grimy, with the opportunity to spend $10-20 for $2 in cheap toys and the chance to pretend you're at Wendover, this is the place for you!
Otherwise, you'd be better off at almost any...
Read moreWe went to celebrate my granddaughter's 8th birthday. The kids had fun. However dealing with the female manager was a nightmare! We had a party of nine, that I paid for, however my pregnant daughter-in-law was late joining us and the manager refused to let her in saying she had to pay the $2.25 entrance fee and then called her a nasty name! Both of my sons went up to the desk and said we had paid for nine people, but the manager insisted that they had counted all of our people who had come in and it was nine. We said we paid for nine but only eight of our party were in the arcade as we were waiting for my other daughter-in-law. She responded that it wasn't her responsibility to keep track of the people in our party...what?? One minute she says they counted everyone and the next she says it isn't her responsibility to count? This young woman has a MAJOR attitude problem. There was another young woman working at the counter who was soft-spoken and willing to help, but the manager kept rudely interrupting and then turned around and yelled at her staff! Wow! I won't be bringing my grandchildren back to this facility ever again. Imagine having a manager who can't control her mouth or her temper working in a place that is supposed to cater to young children. I have been unable to find the owner of this particular venue, but if they are concerned about the future of their business they'll fire the current manager and hire someone with more maturity and better customer...
