Thomas (the pharmacist) and staff have always been very kind and helpful whenever I pick up or drop off meds, but the main reason for the five star review is a whole story which I will now tell.
My three year old daughter got an infection from a tick bite. We took her to the emergency room over the weekend and the PA on duty prescribed an antibiotic that would clear up the infection and treat the bite. We usually always use Ingles pharmacy, but because of the late hour we went with CVS in Villa Rica since they are 24 hours and we were anxious to start on the medicine right away. After leaving the hospital we drove to CVS where we were informed they did not have the medicine in stock and would have to order it. It wouldnāt be ready until Monday. Two days we would have to wait to start our baby on the medicine she would need. So we waited. I called CVS pharmacy Monday morning, anxious to get the medicine, and was informed it would be in by 5:00 pm. So, I waited some more. I got to the pharmacy around 7:00 pm, after waiting in their drive thru line for about 30 minutes, only to be informed that they didnāt have the medicine⦠and not only that, but it had never been ordered⦠I asked āwhat should I do? My child needs this medicine to get better.ā I was told to call around to other pharmacies to see if they had it in stock and shoved along. Of course Ingles was the first place I called. The tech was so kind, but informed me they didnāt have it in stock and wouldnāt probably have it in until Wednesday at the earliest. I told her Iād check a few more pharmacies, but would definitely call back to place the order if no one else had it in. I tried a couple of more pharmacies to no avail. No one had this medicine in stock. When I called Ingles back, Thomas answered, and after explaining a little bit of what I needed he asked if I had just called. When I said yes, he said that his tech had told him the situation and he had already placed the order for a generic brand of the same meds. He then went on to help me not only with transferring the prescription over, but ended up finding out the brand that was prescribed isnāt even manufactured anymore. Why the PA didnāt know this or why CVS didnāt take the time or put in the effort to find that out and let us know I guess will be a life long mystery for me. Thomas told me that the meds he ordered were a generic version of the brand prescribed and he would call the doctor in the morning to confirm the switch would be ok. The time that Thomas took to look into this and help me and talk me through everything (after the pharmacy had closed for the night I might add) helped me in more ways than one. I was so angry and stressed and confused and worried, and not only was he very helpful in the information provided, but the time and care he took into helping me meant so much. I am now a loyal customer and will not use any other pharmacy in town. I learned today that not all pharmacies are...
