TLDR: This is a fun course that’s a must for any craft beer drinking golfer, but be sure to pack your own waters, especially if it’s hot.
The Pros: We played in early July, and the course was overall in good shape. Some previous reviews noted tee boxes in poor shape and fairways in rough shape. I didn’t see either of that, both were fine (the fairways seemed in great shape IMO). Greens overall were great and well maintained. There was one green with some type of disease on it, but it was limited to a very small part of it, and you could see they were working to fix it. The day we went was cart path only. If it wasn’t so hot, this would have been a very easy course to walk or use a push cart. It’s not a particularly long or challenging course, but it’s fun.
Being a course owned by a brewery, your options for alcoholic drinks on the course are top notch. There’s a drink stand when you check in, and one near hole 5 that you can also hit up at hole 7. Several beer options, canned cocktails, and N/A seltzers. They also have a N/A “electrolyte” drink that’s fantastic and perfect for a hot day.
In all, for the price it’s a great course. And if you’re a craft beer fan that golfs, you should absolutely check it out. Treehouse excels at the details, and this is no exception.
The cons: This would have been an easy 5 stars for me except for two things…
Water - there is no place to buy waters onsite (at least from what we were told) and nowhere on the course is a water jug or fill station. There is a fill station in the brewery, but that doesn’t help much once you start your round. In the summer, to not be able to buy water or at least fill up a bottle on the course is wild to me. As noted, there’s a drink stand half way through your round and you can buy their N/A electrolyte drink (which is delicious and very cheap), but there really should be the ability to either buy a water or fill up what you’ve got.
No Ranger - this is a small complaint, but was a bit of a bummer to get stuck behind a group that was absolutely dragging to the point that the group in-front of them was 2+ holes ahead (on a packed day) by the end of the round . Most people probably won’t get stuck behind a group that ignores all etiquette on the course in terms of pace (honestly, some of the worst I’ve seen), but the course could really benefit from a ranger.
Overall, we had a great time and can’t...
Read moreI played this course back in July and loved it. It had only been open a few weeks when I played, so everything was in good condition then. It was cart path only so most walked. You’re allowed 3 drinks on the course and 3 inside. The beer available on the course were lower abvs (pils/lager ect) or you had the canned cocktails to pick from. Yes, they pour a can into another can that is because the town of Tewksbury mandated they do that. Tee times are limited to weekdays only right now because they’re too busy on the weekends and don’t have the parking space to accommodate both the beer crowd and golfers. Also, limited tee times are probably because it’s new, everyone is excited to play there, the course is small and they don’t want to get a huge backup. The beer is great & the facility is gorgeous. If you’re a true TH fan you’ll love the...
Read moreIf you like beer this is NOT the course for you. The on course beer shack is closed on weekends. Guess you need to be a weekday drinking to have one? Now if you like golf then this is also not the course for you. Its nine holes of mediocre golf. Now we did get beers (if there is a will there is a way)! BUT they had to pour beer from cans into different cans? Pour environment (pun intended). So unless your willing to sit for 20 minutes driving into main brewery for anything but their IPAs then your in luck! Oh also a walker on course told me they booted their buddy for drinking their own beers. Super chill place if you like to play 9 sober while thinking about beer because it is in your face on...
