Scott, the technician, initially questioned my account, suggesting potential user-induced damage. Despite my assurance, I had to push for a second repair. It was during this second repair that Scott discovered the torn-off pads on the motherboard, shedding light on the root cause when the component became dislodged. The subsequent fix involved makeshift measures, leaving the device vulnerable. After the third attempt, it was confirmed that the motherboard's pads were torn off during the initial dislodging. Scott admitted to using temporary solutions, advising against further movement to prevent recurrence. Despite my careful handling, the 4K functionality was lost, and there was no effort from the store to address the dissatisfaction or offer compensation. In conclusion, the experience resulted in a subpar, band-aid solution, leading to my decision not to return to the store.
While Scott is reputed for his excellent work, as reflected in reviews and feedback from friends, my personal experience was disappointing. I share my account for those seeking his services. I'm still not sure why Mr. Scott Moodies place (MTECH) was the first stop I made that day but I'm definitely glad I did. Upon walking into his establishment he greeted me, I told him why I was there and his demeanor was down to earth which was another bonus. I got vibes that he was fair and a good business man. All communication about the repair had to be initiated by myself. He could not communicate on his own that he ordered the wrong screen, when the correct screen would come in, or an accurate time on when the repair would be finished. I had to call twice and return to the store twice to get updates on when my device would be finished. Trusting this business cost me time and productivity and I was still charged full price for the inconvenience and unprofessionalism. My device was also sent somewhere else to be repaired which unintentionally admitted.
He also insists on having your passcode which I've never experienced from Apple, or even mall repairs.
