Contrary to what Google indicates, masks are not required of customers, most employees are not masked, they are not disinfecting surfaces between customers, and there is no effort at, guidance on, or enforcement of social distancing (one way traffic in aisles, signage or markings indicating expected spacing in lines, etc.). This is what kept my review from being higher, as Oklahoma is still deep in the throes of the pandemic, among the worst 10 states in the country. The bakery/pastry/in house confections as well as the deli/prepared foods area is fantastic, on average it's of equal or greater quality than Whole Foods at a lower price. This, plus the excellent produce are the main draws here. They also clearly have great in house merchandisers/stockers because everything is always stacked/displayed in an aesthetically pleasing fashion. The meat department is good, but the prices tend high, and despite clearly large inventories they rarely have anything marked down because its approaching a best by date. I don't know if this is because they are actually turning inventory that quickly (which would be excellent), or if it is being redistributed to other concepts (as I suspect from merchandising design and layout that this concept belongs to same parent company as homeland, country mart, and others). Like the other concepts I mentioned above, overall prices trend slightly higher than say walmart or target on most things, but only slightly so and sales pull the prices back in line with others. I was confused by the lack of alcohol of any kind, as I hadn't been there for months and last time I was they had it. Apparently there is new ownership (so no longer owned by the homeland/country mart group). The new owners are bizarrely right wing oklahomans who don't believe alcohol should be available, despite the citizens state fighting for literal decades to bring our practices in line with the rest of the country/developed world (and still requiring a citizen initiative petition to accomplish it). So, if that's important to you on principle, or you don't want to make second stops for alcohol, you should probably...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy 1yr lease is up and I'mmoving out ofUptownatKelleyApartments! The two bedroom unit that I was given was not fit to move in but I was desperate because my son and I were homeless and we needed a place to live. I was here at least 6 months before I saw my next door neighbor's unit and I was shocked to see that she had gray wood planks for flooring, two toned gray paint on her walls and doors, plush gray carpet on both bedroom floors and updated counter tops and appliances. My unit has the universal biege carpet and it is tattered around the edges and the traffic areas are exactly what it says traffic areas that are so filthy because the padding is filthy! White popcorn walls and ceilings, dated vinyl floors that are supposed to be white I think and the squares don't fit to each other and no matter how much you clean or what you use they never look clean. The thresholds are soooooooo old and filthy and good for nothing but the trash š! The heat and air never worked in one of the bedrooms so it wasn't beneficial. The toilet overflowed twice and they just wanted to keep spraying fumes in it instead of cleaning or replacing it. I can't say that I never had a pest issue and pest control never does anything but drop a drop of something that you can never see behind the stove and leave anyway. My upstairs neighbor said that she had roaches but not me and I made sure that they never wanted to visit me! The apartment manager Pam is very accommodating and she said that they would replace the floors with the updated wood planks but I'm in a wheelchair and I have no ramp. The neighbors don't pickup behind their dogs and I have to use the grass to exit because I have no ramp. Whenever it rains I get stuck in the mud and I'm always trying not to drive into any dog poop. Pam issued notices again with fines, etc regarding this but It's too late to fix this issue because moving my furniture to implement putting in floors is too much so when I move my furniture it will be to another location. I requested that this be done when I 1st moved in but now that I'm moving out they realize that it should...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE: I reached out to Uptown via the email address provided in their response to my review. Within seconds, I received an email from Google that the email address "does not exist." So I then went to the Uptown website and reached out via their Contact page. I explained what happened and said I was happy to answer questions or give more info so that changes can be made. It's been over a week and no reply. So the conclusion I've come to is they responded to my review to cover themselves and make them look good to anyone reading my review. They are not truly interested in making changes to better their service. So again... Stay far, far, FAR away from Uptown Catering. I just moved a little over a half mile away from this location and I go out of my way to shop elsewhere. They will never get another penny from my family.
Iām sure the grocery store is fine but DO NOT HIRE THEM AS CATERERS. They lied to me not once, not twice, but three times regarding very important things such as special dietary requests which could have sent one family member to the hospital and two others sick in the bathroom all day (one of whom is my husband). The day of my wedding the so called āserversā were eating food off of my buffet DURING the reception. I had literally sat down with my food and saw them make themselves plates of food. I was told they would perform certain duties which is the only reason I paid extra for them but they did not do what I was told they would do. Extremely unsanitary and unprofessional. This company just wants your money. I have worked for a catering company before so I know how much work goes into it so I wanted to be an easy client. I was told they would āmake it up to meā and never heard from them again. I do not appreciate being lied to and treated as if Iām just another cash cow. I will never shop here or hire them again and will never recommend them to anyone. Go spend your money somewhere honest that actually cares about...
