A good cuban is hard to come by and I've been ordering the one at ND Foods since they were at the 50th and Western location. The last several times I've been you can tell that the deli is not what they want to be doing anymore. The display cases use to be full of beautiful pies, soups, cookies, and cakes. Now each time I go in the cases are mostly empty... and dirty. Counters and dining area are dirty and cluttered with piles of stuff that probably belongs in the adjoining stores. It's so bad you really don't know if it's actually a sit down kind of place, if it's only to-go, or if you should just turn around and leave.
The service was okay once they finally came to the counter. I had two others with me and when we walked up to the counter there was a lady that walked by and went the back where the kitchen was. I didn't ring the bell because she looked right at me and I thought she would be right back. When nobody showed up I finally rang the bell. I glanced back to the kitchen area and could see more clutter and dirty surfaces. for sure not the way you want the kitchen at a place you're eating to look. The cuban itself is still good even though it is smaller and more expensive than it use to be. I probably won't be back for a while and in the meantime I hope they are able to...
Read moreInstincts led me to wonder about ND Foods, the reviews made me certain it was an oasis in an often desert of eateries which come and go like seasons. There are recipes with actual taste buds at work here. While I am just three dinner entrees into my new discovery, all three had the distiction of âknowing and sticking to a good recipeâ. The fetticini was delicate, the chicken enchiladas were satisfying, and the strawberry layer cake elevated my standards of lusciousness. And those are not even the âhighlightsâ on the reviews. Itâ a classy place with walk abouts into some of OKCâs most eclectic vintage, modern, ports âO call, furniture and decorem items even Elle Decor would feature in itâs magazine. If you call yourself distinctive, there is every reason to make ND Foods and its portals into this foray of unpretentious, yet sophisticated, furniture and decor pieces, your kind of...
Read moreThe best pie I have ever had. I got the mixed berry, and the filling is semi-sweet with a great real fruit taste, with an incredible crust. I bought the whole pie for $55, a lot for a pie, but after all it is a whopping 11 inch diameter, and 3 inches deep. I also bought 10 of the toffee chocolate chip with pecan cookies, with each cookie having a 5 inch diameter. The cookies are great.
Also safe for people with peanut allergies, but they do serve peanut products, so be careful, and make sure that each item is safe before buying.
I didn't have any of other food, and I wasn't impressed with the meat counter selection, but I am used to Central Market...
