We went to the Star Plunge this past weekend as a way to celebrate Father’s Day. It’s been years since we’ve been and thought this would be fun for all ages of our ever growing family! While I do think the facility is being cared for better now then I remember, I do have observations, and concerns. We were greeted by a guy (only one employee at front desk) that asked how many in our party. We saw no posted signs explaining cost for ages, etc. After explaining how many we had he immediately began adding this up in his head rather than using the cash register. He then said it would be $93 and he wouldn’t charge our 2 month old infant or the 12 month old a fee. We thought...oh wow, okay. Thanks. We then gave him a credit card to pay and he then says, only cash or checks! He then pointed to an ATM in lobby. I had my checkbook and wrote a check. During this he proceeded to help others coming and I couldn’t help but notice that sometimes he rang people up on register, while other groups (like us) he did not. He then told us after we payed that bags were fine on swimming platforms, but no shoes were allowed. We made our way outside to start and immediately noticed the pool was quite full and all the chairs/loungers were taken. We got our bags, towels, etc piled together and while some of us were still trying to get cover ups off, our four year old grandson began running down towards deep end. He actually got to end, sat down and was almost going to jump in. Both my daughter and daughter n’ law sprung into action and headed his way quite fast! It was at this point that I looked around to where the lifeguards were. I saw one! And, he was not at a seated lifeguard post, but rather walking around the pool. I observed him for a bit and noticed he wasn’t intently watching the swimmers. He was however making small talk with those visiting. My other complaint would be that the wet floor surface was quite slippery! I understand why they don’t want shoes on swimming platforms, but wet feet on slippery surfaces are scary! Overall, we had a nice visit but think it’s pricey! $12.50 for adults and $6 for all children! Yes, even an infant! I recommend keeping a close eye on your children while there. You may hit a day where there’s one lifeguard on duty that’s not paying close attention to everyone in the pool. Oh, and I saw no lifeguards on duty at the...
Read moreI personally would NEVER come here again it was completely disappointing. So here’s my list of reasons why you shouldn’t go there. 1: The water was disgusting There were dead bugs everywhere outside and inside. 2: still the water When I tried to look into the water I wasn’t able to see anything it was extremely foggy and I even found rocks, dead leaves, and a bandage in the water. It was very hard to figure out when the last time it was cleaned 3: The employees were very rude There were multiple times I came across a rude employee first at the counter when I needed a stamp to life guards straight up yelling young children for going under the water. 4: the locker rooms space It was extremely cramped in the locker rooms having no space to move around. 5: the locker rooms cleanliness The locker rooms look like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks every step I took was either wet or squishy. 6: over population The pools them selves had way too many people to move and every time I did try to move I would almost run into someone. 7: the slides There were no slides there When I went I expected a full fun time on the slides based on the pictures on the website but when I got there the slides were shut down without any warning. 8: prices Everything there is straight prices we spent almost $70 dollars on 5 people and close to $30 dollars on a few snacks for the family. 9: the neighboring pool So we walked over to the pool next door and it very much better quality, cleaner, and has less people and more space. 10: hot tubs Going into the hot tubs were not worth it either I felt to different in the temperature for the main pool and the hot tub plus it was extremely crowded. In total I would not go again it was extremely disappointing/ disgusting/ and not fun. Everyone talked it up but it was not worth the $70 if anything it should be sold $7 per person. I honestly don’t understand why people only ever send...
Read moreWe went today and have gone many times before as we are originally from the area. The facilities were clean and staff was friendly. They have a kiddie pool (inside) and small outdoor slide for the littles. They have a hot tub and there is a tall tube slide that is super fun and if they have enough people they run the white slide that you use a mat on and you go super fast (it's also the only cool water in the park)! My 6 year old went down the little slide that she loves and cut her finger pretty bad, figured it was a freak accident. Went upfront and they sprayed it with hydrogen poroxide and gave her a paper towel told her to sit out for 10 minutes. Was told no bandaid as it would probably fall off anyway... (I get it bandaid In Pools are gross) after 15 minutes and it was still bleeding I went up and they gave me a fabric bandaid so she could at least sit in the kiddie pool. After awhile it stopped and she was back to playing and finally got the courage to go back on the slide. She went back on it and was cut in 2 more places. At this point I told her let's get more bandaids and go home. We went up front and the guy asked what slide she was on I said the little white one... He said in defense it's because she was putting her hand on the sides of the slide. I wasn't nearly as upset that she was cut as I was with the excuse he gave . There should be nothing on a slide that should cut a child's hand... I would have been perfectly fine with a I'm so sorry that happened, I'll have someone check it out. But the excuse wasn't needed and made me more upset...
