Hello, I have enjoyed the summer concerts held at Fox Pointe for several years now & complement all who make this such a treasured summer event.
I've been in a wheel chair for a couple of years.
Previous years, I was allowed to enter Fox Pointe thru the west entrance (normally used for exit). This is a short distance to the covered pavilion and easy access for me & my helper. Most events we are unable to park in the handicap parking (as they are taken by the time I arrive), so my helper drops me off at the west gate, while they park the car, usually at the bank parking (quite a distance from the west gate). My helper then pushes me thru the west gate (west gate attendants are kind to let me enter), & we proceed to the pavilion tables.
This year, I was not allowed to enter thru the west gate & had to enter thru the main gate along with a huge number of people. I sat while my helper parked the car (again in the bank parking as there was no open handicap parking). My helper then pushed me to the pavilion. This was quite an effort for my helper, the distance was 2x, 3x to the pavilion then if I had entered thru the west gate.
Please reconsider and allow handicap people to enter thru the west gate. The concerts are very enjoyable & I have purchased tickets to the special Friday night events.
However, it is now very difficult for me & my helper and I may not be able to attend these concerts. Please reconsider how the park entrances are...
Read moreLovely event location. They perform concerts in the park here with a huge stage and grass area for lawn seating. Large pavilion area for dining, protection from sun and wind. The grounds were kept up and in pristine condition.
I was here with The Y? Why Not! Show for the Lansing Halloween Trick or Treat with the vendors. It was a wonderful event with over 1500 people/children. The city parking lot was full but there is nearby street parking.
The summer concerts are a fun time to hangout with family and friends. The community is very engaged with various activities for all ages. They constantly utilize Fox Pointe as the centering for gatherings.
Nice place. Will be back for the Christmas function with the tree...
Read moreBeautiful venue for live music! Large open lawn area with a good view of the stage from every spot. Free parking in smallish lot nearby, but there's also free street parking and a new parking lot is being planned for next year. You have to buy tickets for alcoholic beverages. Food is available from a couple of different vendors. Also a large covered pavilion with lots of picnic tables if you don't bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. For this first year all the shows have been free, but they will probably start charging admission for some events in the future. Great place for family and...
