Today I placed my first time order after my son had the ribs last week. I called him my order today at 5:30. My order was not ready until 6:40 PM. When I made the order over the phone it was pleasant. The young lady told me 15 minutes when I walked in the gentleman that was cutting. The ribs were talking rudely to another employee. Not sure if he was the owner or not but I am very big on customer service. I train on customer service and the way that he was talking to her was not appropriate you do not make people feel low. If I was that young lady, I would’ve walked out on him. The conversation went something like this I mean you don’t need to worry about that you have 50 wings 50 wings you don’t need to worry about that Water you can stop doing what you doing. Is we multitask around here , I thought that was rude. I thought that it was embarrassing. I thought that it was not needed and at that moment I didn’t want to purchase anything from the restaurant then when I got to the counter, the young lady told me that my order wasn’t ready it would be 10 minutes. She asked me if I would like to pay and I told her that I really needed to leave. I’ll think about it. I turned around and came back to the counter and waited 10 minutes for her to fix food, and for everyone to see the line and no one said give us a few moments. There was a sign up there to say please stand behind the rug and wait patiently you greet your customers when they walk into the building I had to ask the young lady could I go ahead and pay for my food then I went outside and at this time it had to be about 550 and I waited until 630 and she was preparing my food at that time and she gave me my food at 6:40 so what I would say as a Black business do better you never know who’s watching you never know who’s listening and I’m not sure if I will be back based on the long wait for the food the terrible customer service for letting customers wait longer than they needed to for food not greeting your customer and most of all embarrassing a coworker in front of other employees and customers that is not professional please do better please take some classes on Customer Service also, do not serve greens ever that taste the way those greens taste tonight no seasoning, and they taste like they were...
Read moreI wanted to support a black owned business to celebrate Juneteenth but I left feeling very disappointed. My order was very small but it still took an hour and ten minutes. I felt like my business wasn't appreciated.
Their website quotes their carryout time as "30-45 minutes". With this in mind, I placed my order at 12:30, since my lunch break starts at 1. I arrived at Ooo Wee at 1:05PM, assuming that I would be waiting until 1:20ish, at the latest.
This was not the case. I wasn't greeted or acknowledged when I walked in. No one said anything at all to me until around 1:25. I showed the employee the confirmation for my order and he claimed that he couldn't find it and that it would be under a "different name" since I chose to order from the website. He told me I would have to wait a little bit longer. While I continued waiting, I heard the same employee tell another customer that they were behind on orders because of a large catering order.
While the employee was very polite and apologetic, this still rubs me the wrong way. It felt like the kitchen was openly prioritizing more expensive orders. While this makes sense from a business perspective, it feels a little insulting. My order was only $10 but I went out of my way to tip the kitchen staff. In return, I got my food at 1:40, with only twenty minutes left in my lunch break.
The food was okay and I had to rush to eat it. The chicken was great but the greens were not. They tasted like vinegar and nothing else. I normally wouldn't include a complaint about taste since it's my personal opinion. But you can imagine my disappoiseeing as I received my food so late, you can imagine my disappointment.
Again, the employee I interacted with was very kind. I would love to give this spot another shot. I'm just a little hesitant given how much time they take and how inconsiderate they are, even though it's...
Read moreWe decided to order food from the Ooo Wee in Lansing hoping that it was not as busy as the other establishment in Burnham. Let's start with the positive first. After ordering my food online, I received a call that they could not give a full side order of yams and offered an order of sweet potato fries, but I asked for a small string beans to go with the 3/4 order of yams and was accommodated. Everything was delicious! The greens may have been too watery for some people, but they were seasoned decently without an abundance of salt. The string beans were even better with pieces of white potatoes and turkey neck meat. The candy yams looked like Gerber baby food with no lumps of yams, but that made it have an uniformed mild sweetness throughout. I had a large catfish steak and my woman had a 4 piece white chicken and there were no complaints about them. Now for the negatives...I was sent a text message that my order was ready and I was sitting in my car. I had to wait 15 minutes for this slow moving young man to bag my order and during that time he did three questionable things. First of all, he wiped his runny nose with a bare index finger. That should have had me hollering, but I did not want to embarrass him in front of three seating customers. Shortly afterwards he used the neck of his shirt to wipe his nose and finally he brushed his locks with his hand. No washing of hands nor hand sanitizer. I wasn't disgusted because customers aren't watching workers in hardly any establishments and therefore are aware that some unsavory activities can occur and yes, I'm...
