I have shopped at Kays since I was a teenager and I'm 35 for reference. I recently got my moms earings for Christmas 2 years ago. They came quick and packaged beautifully. She wears them everyday. Now fast forward to her birthday in June. I ordered her a necklace, it was originally $200 but it was on sale for $125. It arrived in a box by it self just loose in the box and it arrived damage and the quality was awful. I dont usually write reviews unless i had a great experience somewhere but this warranted a bad review. The chain was broke and it was so brittle and falling apart. Even if it wasnt already broke when I opened the box it would have fallen Apart more if someone were to try and put it on. It still had a tag on it that said made in India which i thought was odd. I have never had such a bad experience with Kay Jewelers ever. Im am very disappointed and now I have to send my mom's birthday present back and take her to a better Jewelers and let her pick out something directly from a Jewelers. Kay Jewelers wasted my time on March 3, 2022 by doing this. They later sent me an email saying there was a problem with my payment processing (Paypal). There was NOT a problem.
That was their excuse for cancelling my order. So I went to the website and the idiots at Kay are still advertising the Citizen Watch Model CB5848-57L on their website at a price of $287 to drive traffic to their site when they know damn well that they do not have this item in stock.
I called their customer service number and held for 30 minutes and finally hung up. They want you to chat instead. So I chatted, and that’s where the rep told me my order was cancelled because the item was out of stock. It is still on their website as “IN STOCK” as I write this.
I will never shop at Kay again.
There are other Jewelry stores out there that deserve your business more.

Read moreI was standing at the counter with my jewelry and paperwork waiting for someone to assist me. Another woman got behind me in line. A black woman with a head wrap came over, failed to greet me and took the woman behind me in line. I continued to wait for someone to be available to help me. A woman finally came over to help me. I recognized her from over 2 decades of being a customer of this family of jewelry stores. I know who she is by name, but I won't post it publicly. I asked if she was the manager and she indicated she was the manager on duty. I asked if there was a reason the woman I earlier described would have taken the woman behind me in line first. The manager never said a word in response and proceeded to carry on with my inspections. I can only assume this was mask discrimination as I was not wearing one and the woman behind me in line was. No worries because I wouldn't want the woman who passed me over to lay her fingers on my jewelry and I would never give this store any of my paid...
