I was feeling uninspired and looking for a new artistic outlet when a coworker friend started posting about a ceramics class she was taking from Fire Me Up Ceramics! I decided to try a beginners class. I had thrown some pottery in college and thought I’d love to get back into it. The classes were so informative, fun and I had access to the studio 24/7 during my course! The instructors, owner and people I met along the way were so generous in sharing their knowledge while I was learning. By the end of my 6 week course I was hooked! I immediately signed up for another class! Fire Me Up ceramics gave me so much more than the skills needed to make a pot! They gave me my inspiration back, a sense of community and a purpose again!! I sent my African American wife and her sister in the store to find out about the classes while I finished my cigarette and when I walked in I was welcomed very quickly but my wife and sister were ignores once the three white ladies realized they were with me a white man they all turned and walked away from us so me personally I found it very disrespectful and and racist and I will not be going back and being in the union I will definitely be bringing it up in the next union meeting considering our union makes a lot of contribution to the NATO district shameful for their actions towards black people and I will let all my union...

I cannot think of any place I would rather be than at Fire Me Up Ceramics. The staff is so friendly and full of knowledge and so very encouraging. I had never done any kind of pottery before taking the beginner throwing class, but ended up having so much fun, I signed up for hand building...twice. Looking forward to taking another throwing...
