Just watched "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time", another memorable presentation. HHT is known for the Bath House Players and summer camps, which are really good; but it is far more than just kiddie shows and this is a prime example. Their adult offerings are well-chosen and well done. This one in particular was intense and thought provoking. The malleable nature of the theater itself provides options for staging a wide variety of pieces, and staff does an excellent job of shaping the right set. Topeka has a lot of talent and the young man playing the lead, who carried the show, was marvelous. He gave dignity and humanity to a character that could easily be portrayed as a stereotype, while remaining true to the boy's limitations. Tonight, we participated in their Haunted House. It was absolutely fun!! They made tremendouse use of space inside the building. The various themes were well thought through and actors played on stories that engaged the audience. Large and small startling tactics and playful gouls made it for a great experience.
