Walgreens — Local services in Topeka

Tech (red hair) in pharmacy is condescending and has no desire to be helpful. The customer in front of me in line kindly explained to the tech her frustration of not being able to get her medication. The tech was sharp when he replied, “There are over 1500 customers. I can’t call them all.” I was at the pharmacy to inquire about the newest Covid booster. My doctor told me, in May 2023, that he had recently gotten the newest booster and wanted me to do the same. The tech said, First of all you don’t qualify for the shot”. (I do qualify). I don’t get my scripts at Walgreens so I don’t know how he could begin to know anything about my immune system. The tech stated that there is no booster newer than what I had in the fall of 2022. I explained I’d just left another pharmacy in Topeka where the Pharmacist indicated the newest booster would likely be available in Topeka in a couple of months. The previous Pharmacist also explained it is currently available in Overland Park. The tech at Walgreens told me I should go to Overland Park. He is hateful and needs a vacation or a new job where he doesn’t come in contact...

I think it's quite bizarre how varied the other reviews are about this location, but it also makes sense considering ... a few months ago I got a new script from Minor Med filled here, I gave them both my Blue Preferred and an RX card ( just in case ) total was almost $50 so I asked what was so special about it and she re entered my Ins card # Correctly = it was ONLY $4 (I love my Ins ) Yesterday I had 3 new scripts filled and they were very quick and friendly, and thanks to my Insurance it wasn't too expensive. But at home I realize they gave next to no specific drug info for the 3 NEW prescriptions ( generic info that even with a magnifying glass its too small) and worse, no one offered a consult on the new meds ... I dont think thats ever happened in my life ! I'm more than a little...

Update, 1/5/22: It just gets worse. They now close the pharmacy for lunch at 1:30. Doesn't matter if you're already in line, they won't help you until they reopen (allegedly) at 2. They also won't tell you ahead of time, even if you've been standing there for 10 minutes. Just, "sorry, closing." Me and about six other people in line were livid. Don't go here for any reason unless you like being treated like s*.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Pharmacy is closed at 5pm on a Friday because pharmacist didn't show up hours ago. This is unacceptable, but apparently not to the 16 yr old manager. Ridiculous. You are messing with people's health. I sincerely hope the board of healing arts closes you down. You don't deserve any of...
