I found this place using reviews on Google and once again I was convinced that they may not be true. I gave my macbook to Josh with the most common keyboard problem (coffee spill) and it seemed like it could be easier. I will list all the problems that I encountered.
I gave my laptop away on Monday morning with a promise that he would call me back. I didn't get a call back on Monday, and on Tuesday, too. I called myself on Wednesday and it turned out that my laptop had not even been looked at yet. As Josh explained, there were other cases and clients. Ok.
He promised to call me back, but I called again myself. It turned out that I needed to order a new keyboard. Okay, I agreed. For the urgency of the delivery of parts, I also agreed to pay extra.
The next day I call again myself (this has already become normal for me) and it turns out that someone delivered the wrong keyboard at all and he does not have time to fix my laptop, and for some reason on Saturday he also decides not to work.
Josh suggests that I only replace the battery and try to repair the old keyboard (it turns out it was possible, why did they order a new one then?)
I arrive on Friday (I call in advance, because of course no one calls me), he said me that the laptop is ready. I came to pick up my laptop. And it's just awful. The laptop is returned to me all scratched, the touchpad does not work, one key on the keyboard is missing. It is in this condition Josh wants to give the laptop to the client. I explain all these problems to him. He just takes a key from another laptop, repairs something in the touchpad, and it seems to start working. I pay the amount that he voices and understand that I no longer want to deal with this person. And I tell him that I will write an honest review about his company and service. Here John begins to raise his voice at me, although all this time I spoke calmly and tried to explain to him so that he would also calm down. He began to yell that he had problems in the family and many clients. Sorry, but how should this concern me as a client? Yes, I can understand a person's problems, but not when he raises his voice and breaks my laptop. I decided to leave and I didn't ask for a refund to be able to write this review. I left, and in the wake he said something unpleasant to me. And finally, the most interesting thing happened at home, when I began to take a closer look at the laptop and all the scratches. It turned out that the touchpad was generally installed from another computer and it does not fit very well and is covered in scratches. There is also no screw on the cover and most importantly. Stripes began to run and flicker on the screen, and it became simply impossible to work.
I see that the reviews of other customers are positive and I can assume that it was I who was unlucky. However, I cannot ignore this case either. I don't have a working laptop and it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely the best place around for for repairs. Exceptional customer service, reasonable prices, friendliness staff and great completion speed. The best in Maine hands down.
My sisters who know absolutely nothing about computers purchased a new one without a warrantee for 3 years to save $40. I brought it to the Nerd Barn where they went through it to find that it would cost me as much as a new laptop to get this one fixed. They were so nicely to help me with finding the company website to get an extended warrantee for the laptop so it could get fixed.
just when I thought these guys could not get any better I brought them a hard drive that I had been saving for 15 years from an old computer. I had taken it to a place when the computer originally crashed and was told there was nothing that could be done. On a when I pulled it from storage and let these guys take a look at it. to my astonishment they were able to download and save over 150GB of stuff for me. To include the only copy of a video of my god-daughters first beauty pageant.
The Nerd Barn will always be my first and only go-to for any...

When I arrived to pick up my laptop, he could not locate it at all. I discovered it in the hallway floor outside his office, leaning against the desk. He proceeded to tell me that my TWO YEAR OLD laptop was "on its last legs anyway", no one could possibly repair it, and I should just give up on it. He did not apologize at any point. When I brought it to someone else for repair, we discovered he had plastic welded the screen to the casing. Parts of the case were broken off and missing. He told me the screen couldn't be replaced.
Despite his assertions, I was able to take it to someone else who fixed the supposedly unfixable. The only good thing I can say about this company is that at least they paid for the repair work it needed after they got their...
