This was our first trip to Forest Park in Camden, NY and we will be back! It is such a peaceful place to hike and explore. The park is well maintained with dozens of rain shelter pavilions, sturdy picnic tables, benches, swing sets, fire pits, and grills. The main trails are flat and paved for easy hiking and biking. There are plenty of off-road dirt trails as well for the more adventurous hikers. There are several unique features like small wooden bridges and stone-carved monuments. There are many scenic spots for taking a rest and admiring the natural surroundings. All trails are marked clearly with signs. We loved all the creeks and ponds where ducks and geese were nesting. We also saw a beautiful doe feeding. Overall we rate this park a 9/10, the only enhancement to make it better would be bathrooms. This is a take in-take out park, so bring your trash with you...
Read moreForest Park is always a great place to visit whether by yourself, with friends or family or even to have any type of gathering for any type of holiday. A perfect place for cookouts, picnics, swimming, fishing, and exercising. It's also a nice place to have pictures taken or just to take photos. While walking throughout the different roads and trails you might discover different wildlife or even possibly some fairy's or gnome's if you look close enough maybe even some beautiful painted rocks hidden allover the park. The only complaint I have is the closures of the restrooms, I believe that if the park is open then the restrooms should be open as well. Also near the old restroom in the beginning of the park, there's an old water spicket that unfortunately doesn't work anymore😔 it would be nice if it was to be fixed, it's nice to be able to get for fresh water...
Read moreForest Park is an awesome park to take a leisurely stroll, power walk, jog, bike, picnic ... theres places to fish and bird watch. Its kept very clean with many pavilions of various size sprinkled around the park. There are side trails off the main paved road which is now only open to vehicles Thursday to Sunday. That is great for us walkers and bikers, however the downside is that the bathrooms are also locked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which is a little stressful since the park is fairly large and you can easily spend enough time where you may need to go. Apparently there are vandals that prevent them from leaving them open which is sad. Most of the walking is shaded and while the whole walk is wooded and scenic, there are some exceptionally beautiful and serene spots...
