I will never shop at restaurant depot again! First want to say I don’t pay for the membership, my wife’s job is kind enough to give her a membership.
Now my disappointing story. Recently my wife and I were shopping in the Albany NY store. We bought non-food items for a large event we were part of planning for. After bringing the items home and re-evaluating we decided not to use all the items. We had to go to the Newburgh NY area and figured we would return the items at the Newburgh Restaurant Depot. When we got there we stood on line for a while and finally when it was our turn the cashier turned to us after a long while and said that we couldn’t return the items to their store and we would have to go back to the store where we purchased the items.
Fast forward a few days. I worked a half day and figured I would make the 50+ mile drive up to Albany to make the returns. I arrive and I’m greeted by a cashier at the customer desk by the door. I explain I am here to make a return. I hand him the receipt and he notices that some items are highlighted on the receipt. I explain those are the items and continue to explain what the Newburgh store cashier told me “that returns must be made at the store of purchase “. He then tells me that I was lied to and any Restaurant Depot store can take the returns. He then takes my receipt and walks away without any explaining any further. I still haven’t had my return processed and he wonders away with my only proof of purchase. He is gone approximately five minutes and no one else is around for me to ask where he went. I then see him jabbering and playing with other employees. He finally returns and shortly afterwards another person comes over and punches a code in his computer. I presume it was a manager or someone in charge authorizing the request. He then hands me back my receipt and says the money has been applied to my membership card. I asked for a receipt of the transaction for proof and he stated I would have to go to a cashier to get that or to have the money put back on my credit card. Now I walk over to the cashier lines. I’m ten people deep in the lines. After what felt like an eternity I have the cashier transfer the return from my membership to my credit card.
The problem I have with Restaurant Depot is:
Newburgh location lied to me about not taking returns from other locations.
The cashier just walks away without even explaining what was happening.
Cashier never explained process, provided proof of return until I questioned him about it.
Transaction had to be conducted at several...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the worst stores to shop at. Michele is an incredibly rude individual to interact with. She also makes very angry and loud threats towards customers. You can easily spot her when you walk in the doors. Just an angry looking person in a black pullover.
We had gone in the day earlier trying to purchase a last minute blender for our stores opening. We got it, everything went fine. Once we used it, it was just simply not blending things thoroughly. So less than 24 hours later we were back to return it since it didn’t function well. Immediately when we walked in, the front desk was already unkind and doing whatever she could to not do the return. Then comes Michele… she walks up we explain we have our receipt and it was not working properly and she without question say we have to call the brands company to get a new one. We were wanting to return it. Then asking if there was anything we could do, she keeps aggressively saying no. We leave l, go outside and research company return policies. (Company return policy states you have 72 hours to return appliances in the original box and must have receipt. We had both) we return and the store manager is called “Tom” he is very kind, let’s us know they will take care of us. Which everyone did. Until Michele found out. She questioned us on who helped us stating we couldn’t return the item and after she put the money on our card, still tried telling us we couldn’t return it. Then she told us to watch our mouths when we were speaking to her after telling her policy said it was allowed. Then continues to get angry and said she will be going back to recharge our card for the item after we left which seems highly illegal. Continues to yell more stuff after we walked out. She is a nightmare of an individual and seems to be doing things that will get the company on a lot of trouble when they hear about that store recharging peoples cards when they don’t agree...
Read moreThis is the rudest store ever!! The service is horrible and very unprofessional! I understand that I came an hour and a half before the closing time, but that is not a way to treat a customer. I bought 3 cases of discounted items, but the store associate only discount 2 cases. When he discounted the 3rd case, the total price remain the same as 2 discounted case so, I was a bit confused and was trying to figure out what’s going on. Instead of explaining why the price remains the same, he just removed one of the cases and didn’t communicate with me at all. He asked another employee to come over to make sure if that’s the right way to remove one of the cases from the receipt. He then walked 1 foot away and started screaming at me. This is what he said word for word “Get out of my store, it’s closing time and I want to go home!” The store associate name is Michael Amb. Then he went to the side line and was trash talking about me loudly to other associates. I was utterly shocked by the way he acted. All I wanted was an explanation, but he didn’t even give me one and starts throwing a tantrum like a 3 year ago kid. That’s very rude and unprofessional! I am super traumatized by store. When he was screaming at me, I felt threatened as well. He looks like he was about to attack me, especially the way of his body language. All the other associates/ employees just stood there and watched as if they’re watching a movie or something. This store really needs to train their...
