Yesterday, I called Upper Village Blooms about my friend’s 60th birthday. I ordered a mid-size bouquet, and specified to the owner that I wanted bright solids (oranges, reds, magentas) and greens for a number of reasons related to the emotions I wanted to convey. (My friend lost her mother last year, and I wanted to send the bold colors of her mom’s personality.) I was told to specify “jewel tones” in my online order and that the owner would be able to do that. She assured me that she had a new order of a variety of very fresh flowers. I was pleased there was no delivery charge, and assured the flowers would be delivered today. At 1pm, my friend sent a text about something else, with no mention of the flowers. I called, and was told they were ready for delivery. Shortly after, my friend sent a picture of the flowers, and she was delighted with them. However, I was quite disappointed. While they were beautiful, they weren’t at all what I had requested. I called the florist and spoke with the designer, in tears, trying to explain why I was disappointed. I assured her I would not be writing a negative review, I just wanted to share my feelings. About 30 minutes later, I received a call from the owner. Finding this place and using them for the first time I reached out to the store directly after placing my order online. I spoke to Catherine to explain why I needed the flowers and I why I needed them to please make sure that it's a nice arrangement because my friend has a very picky style, and I want to bring him some comfort and happiness with this arrangement. My friend sent me a video of the flowers shortly after delivery, and said they were absolutely beautiful. He was happy, so I'm happy. Catherine and Samantha were so easy to work with. They had detailed pictures of our venue with examples of flower options and color choices. It was easy for us to envision what the space might look like due to their diligence in putting a detailed proposal with photographs together for us.
