One of the worst hotels I've stayed at.The location is very convenient to Montauk landmarks and the hotel is beautiful in general. I really wanted to enjoy a family vacation here but unfortunately did not truly enjoy my time on the property. The only positive parts of the stay were Paul (the captain of the marina boat tour), the location, complimentary bikes, private beach, and Tim and Maureen were incredibly helpful. I would advise visitors to look into other options when visiting Montauk.
The staff who were not mentioned above were disrespectful. Upon arriving at the driveway, we questioned if there was free parking and the valet said no despite the fact that the website said that parking was free. He insisted that valet was the only option and we had to pay. This was the same story that the concierge told us but on another post here, a representative of the Montauk Yacht Club stated that there is a free parking option in the Marina Lot but we were lied to when questioning if there was an alternative. Later on, when we saw the parking lot during our stay and asked why we were not given that space as an option, we were told that the parking is only for marina club members. I assume that all of these misunderstandings were a result of the change in management, but I would have hoped that they could have straightened it out prior to opening the hotel. The concierge was rude. I believe his name was Kevin and when we talked with him upon arriving at the club and asked about the parking policy, he completely dismissed us and stated that valet parking was on the website though I was able to pull something up that said that there was also a free parking option. As a result of that, the rest of our conversation with him was uncomfortable and he was visibly annoyed with my family. We had a few other poor interactions with him including when we had to move rooms. When I went to ask him about moving rooms, he was willing to accommodate us because I was told that noise issues have been extremely prevalent on this property. He asked me if I could move immediately and when I said yes, he handed me the key cards and requested that we move our belongings over by ourselves. We had to carry all of our belongings individually from our room to our new room without any assistance from any staff which was a first. I felt EXTREMELY disrespected as a guest at such a “high-end” location. Following our check-in, our bags were loaded onto a golf cart and we were driven to our room where we were required to bring our own bags into the room. The man who drove us there in the golf cart requested that we help him which was very unique to us. He parked in a very inconvenient location causing us to have to bring our bags a much longer distance than necessary. Almost every time we called for coffee pods, towels, etc., we were sent to voicemail. In the rare instances that we were able to get in touch with someone, the person who answered did not understand what we were asking for, or if they did, it took over 4-5 hours for the things to get delivered to the door or not at all. When they were delivered, there was always something missing. Earlier, I mentioned that we had to make a noise complaint and move rooms as a result. We were living on a lower level and we could hear the floor creak from our upstairs neighbors all the time. They had two children who would run around and scream often and so when they did, we could hear it all. The issues were so bad that we were not able to sleep. The buildings are old and even though they were obviously renovated recently, the floorboards and walls allowed a lot of sound to get through easily. When we talked to the concierge and front desk about it, they were not shocked at all and even mentioned that many people have these issues. The staff clearly prioritized certain guests as there were numerous instances where I tried to speak to the front desk and despite having been first on the line, they helped other customers before me because they were “looking to purchase a club...
Read moreWe had such a spectacular stay at Montauk Yacht Club. The newly renovated property was beautiful and very comfortable with attention to all details. The aesthetic of the hotel is really stunning and they did a fantastic job with the design of all furnishings and amenities - including all of the Aesop products and one of the best hotel robes (which we subsequently purchased). You can't beat the location- so relaxing and peaceful to be on the water and watch the boats at the marina (and those beach chairs with personalized awnings were perfection!). We enjoyed the beach, complimentary paddle boards, pool, bar and restaurant, the shops, and the overall grounds and there was still so much more to do (yoga, boat ride, bikes, spa, padel courts) which means we need to book our return trip ASAP.||However, it was the customer service throughout our stay that really made this trip special and what truly stood out compared to other hotels we have stayed. The two members of the concierge team, Maureen and Tim, went above and beyond. Tim immediately realized we had a dog with us and got a dog bed in the room and offered other dog accessories within minutes of our arrival. They also provided great recommendations around town and made sure all our needs were met and exceeded! Tim and Maureen (as well as all the other staff) were so friendly and always happy to assist with tailored advice and suggestions throughout our stay.||Tim and Maureen also set us up with the most amazing dinner experience at the hotel restaurant. Chef Jarad wowed us with a delicious and innovative freshly caught seafood meal paired with Mt Gay Rum cocktails. As frequent restaurant guests all over NYC, our party was immediately floored by the quality and creativity of the meal and the drinks. One of the best meals we have had in a long time and still dreaming about it!||Also another big shout out to Grayson at the shop who made a really fun shopping experience for us. The shop had beautiful curation of clothes, jewelry, shoes and bags - we wanted them all!! Also fantastic Ocean Club/MYC merchandise which we snagged as some souvenirs to remember our amazing time here. Grayson was super helpful in suggesting various styles and finding us the requested sizes and overall making sure we enjoyed our experience as well as all our purchases - which we very much do!!||The hotel also offers a beautiful house car and we very much enjoyed chatting with Michael during our rides. He helped with our luggage and offered us cold waters upon our departure. Michael was so lovely and made this very useful hotel perk even more delightful! ||We are still glowing from our stay at MYC and have recommended it to all our friends and family. It is so close to NYC and yet you feel transported to a gorgeous holiday far away! The level of customer service given to each individual guest (even with a number of wedding and larger parties going on at same time) truly elevated our experience. THANK YOU Tim, Maureen, Grayson, Michael and Chef Jarad for a magical time! We...
Read moreThe moment you drive into the grounds, there is a sense of serenity that you feel. The resort is nestled on the tip of Montauk Island surrounded by water and beautiful yachts. ||We pulled in with a warm welcome by Ramon and the friendly and helpful front desk staff. Check-in was smooth and our room was bright and spacious. We even received a welcome letter from the managing director welcoming us to the resort. There was a balcony in our room overlooking the ocean. The beds were firm and the pillows were just right. We had everything we needed to feel comfortable for our brief stay. We learned that the yacht club went through a recent remodeling, keeping the old, welcoming Montauk feel but joining it with the new luxurious details. I loved the Aesop brand of shampoo, soap, etc that they offer. There was a mini fridge filled with all the essentials and as much drinking water as we needed. ||We had dinner at the resort’s restaurant, Ocean Club. The food was unbelievable. The chef complimented us with a amuse-bouche of a single oyster nestled in Gruyère cheese and some other kind of magic. We ordered the steak, which was perfectly cooked and tender, the chicken with mushroom and Bronzino which was perfectly spiced with coconut and chili oil. The OC Bread - which is their signature homemade bread was so tender on the inside but with a perfect crunch. When you dipped in their house sauce of three types of oil - it melted in your mouth. I literally wanted to take it back home. Every thing we ate was divine. The service was top notch as is the signature of the Montauk Yacht Club. Dessert was a different story, we opted for a house recommendation from the chef who presented us with a small mountain of what looked like a shell of chocolate but when you broke into out with a spoon, ice cream poured out like lava and it had hints of orange and chocolate. Should I keep on going?||There were many highlights to our stay but one that I will never forget is meeting Teddy, the Siberian husky of the managing director. He is a perfectly-mannered, beautiful addition to the Montauk Yacht Club team. I asked for a photo with him. I was even gifted a stuffed animal in his likeness to give to my son. The managing director, Karla was very professional and made sure all of our needs were met through her team of equally professional staff. ||My girlfriend had a beachfront room that was so relaxing. You opened the sliding door and the sand was perfectly warm under your feet. It was so nice and relaxing that I fell asleep for a good bit while waiting for her to get ready. ||We only stayed two nights but I vow to visit the Le Prairie spa which is housed on a yacht the next time that we visit. Talk about serene and exquisite! I have stayed at many beautiful resorts all over the world, but staying at the Montauk Yacht Club felt like a beautiful vacation that felt like home. I can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you to all the staff that made our stay so...
