First two visits there were great. Third time was not a charm. Food was really good again but the aftermath wasn’t good. I got the Tile fish and my daughter got the bang bang shrimp. Food was tasty as always, we both sampled each others meal and were very happy. Unfortunately a few hours later something wasn’t right with our stomachs. I had a slight stomach ache with tremendous gas and my daughter was getting cramps in the middle of the night and then explosive “Runs”. I called this morning to talk to a manager just to see if anyone else might of called complaining about getting sick. He said no and the fish was brought in from the dock at 4pm and it was fresh and the bang bang shrimp is always fresh. I told him I’ve never had a problem there, but this time it was different. He apologized which was what I expected, but to be honest I was hoping I was going to get maybe a reimbursement on some of my $105 bill, a gift certificate or something else other than an apology, but I didn’t so I just said “ OK then” and we hung up. Probably won’t return again because I don’t feel the right thing was done...

When we eventually got served, the server was good. It was a Monday evening, and I'm assuming they weren't expecting many people because they only had 2 servers doing it all. Hosting, waiting, bussing. For the prices they were charging, they should staff better. The waitress passed us at least 3 times without even saying a word while we were waiting to be seated. A simple "be right with you" would have sufficed. When we eventually got seated over 15 min later (we were the only ones waiting and 75% of the place was empty), it took over 20 min to get our order taken. Even the waiter rolled his eyes that nobody had taken our order yet. $16 for 6 frozen Mozzerella sticks off the kids menu, and it didn't even come with fries. That is an insult. If you are going to charge gourmet prices, you should serve gourmet food. Otherwise, the atmosphere was nice, with good views and ample games to keep the children occupied as we waited. As well as a small outdoor fish tank with lobsters in it. The food came out reasonably quick after the order was put in and the staff...

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Star Island Grill in Montauk! The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the relaxed yet vibrant ambiance. The menu was a delightful fusion of flavors, offering a range of options to suit various preferences. The seafood dishes, in particular, were incredibly fresh and flavorful, showcasing the essence of Montauk's coastal charm. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness added to the overall positive experience. Whether you're dining with family or friends, Star Island Grill provides a perfect setting with its scenic views and mouthwatering cuisine. I can't wait to visit again and indulge in their culinary delights. Definitely a 5-star dining...

Such a lovely venue. This charming yacht club offers a respite from the more heavily touristed areas of Long Island and has a more local feel. The staff were very welcoming and the chef was brilliant too. The restaurant has been recommended to us by Viking Fleet, as somewhere to bring our catch for cooking. We had caught around 5 good sized Porgies and a couple of Sea Bass. The chef turned these into dishes from around the world. Tempura, fish tacos, bang bang salad and a Chinese style rice dish. Highly recommend.
