The Door County Rock & Gem Shop is a fantastic place! It truly rivals the shops in Sedona, AZ! I just love this establishment - and Shannon, the manager of the Fish Creek Store, makes it truly exceptional. She is amazing and has such vast knowledge of the merchandise as well as superb customer service skills - everyone is welcomed into the fold, everyone is a friend, this little boutique experience, this little “gem,” nestled in Fish Creek, WI! She also carries herself like she owns the store, which is wonderful when employees take ownership to such a degree as it only benefits the business. I have spent many hundreds of dollars in this store, largely because of Shannon. Therein lie the subtle art of selling while not “selling.” She is presently designing and putting together some pieces for me for my upcoming return trip. I have learned so much from her about the merchandise and appreciate her very artistic eye. The Ephraim location is much larger and has a bigger selection of everything under the sun - but they don’t have Shannon! In a world where customer service is so lacking and impersonal, it is so refreshing to have a 1:1 shopping experience because I certainly spend much more because of it. The Door County Rock & Gem store is such a great place and so much fun and they know how to treat their customers! Such a...
Read moreJudgmental older woman with ice blue eyes and glasses at the front desk that glared at my mother for fixing her coat and kept staring at her while I brought up my items to check out. I asked her if she had a problem with my 69 year old mother and she said “do you have a problem with me doing my job”? I said “no, but I don’t need to buy these items anymore” and left. My mother has dementia even though she’s young and doesn’t look like it, and I couldn’t have felt less welcome despite her actions being clearly monitored by me. The store is also a hotbox, which the store employee might like, but it’s stifling for those coming in with coats on. Prices are also about 30% higher than elsewhere in the state, including the famous rock shop in Madison. I will never be returning and advise you not to bring children, those who are disabled or handicapped in. Look at the other reviews and you’ll see this awful employee mentioned again and again.
Not friendly and she makes you feel terrible. What kind of customer...
Read moreI just bought a $50 pendant today from Door County Rock & Gem Fish Creek location and asked a simple question concerning the quality of the silver and the worker (middle aged with glasses) responded in a snarky tone saying “all silver tarnishes honey,” which made me question her knowledge on the products that she’s selling along with the price of the pendant. Please educate your workers so that they can respond properly to customers and treat them with a little...
