Card Shack, Sports Cards — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

I have always use Yelp to help get an idea of a business however I never created an account or left any reviews until now. I feel like this is important because this is beyond bad service it's down right malicious and predatorary. After I discovered that I am not the only one who has experienced this and I must take it upon myself to expose this scammer. I will provide documentation and evidence to legitimize this review.

I just wanted to start off that I have never met the owner Steve or went to his store physically so I cannot comment on any purchases inside the store however I can share my experiences and the obstacles I encountered when I visited Card Shacks Online Ebay store which is part of Card Shack and it's WEBSITE . I contacted Steve and spoke to him in regards about a particular box and after happily answering my questions I decided to purchase it through Steve's eBay store. The sealed box is a 1996 ultra fleer basketball hobby box for the amount of 2,7XX.00 From Card shack online EBAY store. Inside this brand new sealed box contained 24 packs and upon opening the first pack i encountered a cards that were fused / stuck together and after the 2nd and 3rd pack with the same outcome I decided to take video documentation of the conditions and proceeded continue to record myself opening other new packs with the same outcome. This was not just one or two pack more than half the box of packs of cards had the same issue. A defective product from the manufacturer or improper storage throughout the years I can only assume.

I went ahead and contacted Steve and provided pictures in regards to the cards I purchased from him but did not get any response from Steve. I found it strange that there was no problems of communication before the purchase and after reaching out multiple times I was given a silence response. I went ahead and contacted eBay customer service and provided the videos and pictures and after the representative examine my documents my refund was approved . I came back on the next day only to find out that my account is now suspended and the refund has been over turned. Not only did Steve ignore my contact he made a complaint to eBay so that my account would be suspended which Steven will not have to provided a refund so he can keep the money. Iam not the only one he did this two. The eBay representative stated that there was a complaint from the seller and that I violated eBay's policy .

I have never encountered such malicious coward con artist like individual before. On aug 7th I went to a Bay Area sport cards convention for that particular product the dealer told me that eBay would be my best chance finding that product, which I shared my horrible experience. That's when another individual across from me Told me about his similar receiving experienceed. after a little bit of investigation and looking through our history's I was baffled to find not only did both of us purchase the same product but it was also from the same seller on EBAY which is owned by Steve. This individual purchased the same product from the same seller and upon opening this new product it was the same defective conditions. He was not able to get a hold of Steve and was also banned from eBay after requesting a refund. I have gotten his permission to share not only my experiences but his similar experience as well. I will provide proof for both of us. STEVE perhaps You provide good experiences when people are at your store however Your CHEAT CON SCAMMING online predator. I will upload documentation for BOTH of our receipts and pictures and video of our documentation. Including both of us being banned from eBay simply for asking for a refund. Went in here to trade over $100 worth of sports cards. The guy told me pass on everything. Which was fine, weird but fine. Then I realized I had 3 big ones left i was holding on to. I showed the lesser of the 3 saving the best one I had for last. He put them aside and then asked to see the last one . “ I said no, can’t show you all my cards I’ll show you the last one once you give me a price on the other 2”. Then simultaneously has says “I’ll pass on these to “ As if to Punish me. All the while ( Steve”/Stevie/Owner) is Millingering around, never says hello or anything to me. I hesitantly show my last and best card. He proceeds to take it to a laptop to Extensively Research the heck out of it. Whilst I’m waiting and growing very impatient and aggravated I gander at his Pokemon section. Holy Moly!!!! These guys are Straight up robbing people. They happened to have the newest set that just dropped. Now I frequent a lot of card shops and I’ve seen most places carry this particular item for $190. These guys are charging $375!!!!!!! Wow !!! So if some dad goes in there with there kid to grab some “ Sports cards” and the kids goes crazy for some Pokemon he’s gonna get his pants pulled down. So he finally gets back to me and offers me $40!!! The card is worth at least $150. That’s less than 30%!! lol!! Really!! I say “ No I’m straight, I’ll pass.” The best part of this outing was that there was a group of boys that left when I did so I just ended up giving them 90%?of all my cards. Seeing how Excited and Happy they were almost made this Painful Outing worth it. I’ve been coming here for a few years. Never anything great to say. Feel like every other time I went there was always something small that annoyed or something that I saw that was overpriced. To me it seams like they are taking Big time advantage that they are able to get a little product and trying to Maximize their profits at the expense of the Local Community. Don’t go out of my to post bad reviews but, shame on these guys. They are Straight up Robbing people. So...

They Definitely do not comp their items and are way above asking on a lot of their product. But hey I have only been doing this 12 years and him 37 years so I guess he knows best right lol. Just really rude and definitely will let everyone and their mother know about my experience!! Sucks it was like that but hey I know many other card shops nation wide that Love my business and repeat business. Sucks to lose a customer willing to spend decent amount of money and even pay well over comps to try and strike a deal. Customer and Sale history don't matter I guess lol.
