First I want to start with the good in my experience. The guys working the front desk were very good and very helpful and friendly.
Now that ends the good.
I came to get my tire looked at that had a nail in it but was holding air under the Costco warranty. I made an appointment and showed up 15 mins early and got checked in. While working on the car the mechanic called and asked me to come to the garage since they couldn't get a socket on my wheels to remove them and asked me if I had a wheel lock to which I said "no". The mechanic showed me none of their sockets were fitting on the car.
So I asked them if they had any other sockets to which they said no, so I offered to ask my brother to come with the proper socket but he would need 30 mins to get here since he was driving home from work. The mechanic agreed to this so I went to wait and noticed the mechanic moving my car out of the garage but didn't think much of it (this plays a role later).
Fast forward 30 mins later my brother shows up and I asked him to start cracking the lugs while I go and tell the mechanic. At this point I was dealing with a different mechanic who then tells me since my car was removed from the garage it counts as my appointment being "completed" and I would either have to be considered a walk in or make another appointment. I was never told that this was a thing and if I was informed about this earlier I would have never asked my brother to come and would have just rescheduled for the next day. On top of this the new mechanic that I am dealing with tells me they do have the socket in the garage that could have removed my tire. All in all I wasted 2.5 hours waiting around when simple communication on the part of Costco tire could have avoided this. Never once did the mechanic offer an apology.
I ended up making an appointment for the next day (mind you all this time I am driving around on a tire that has a nail in it). When I bring the car the next day they patched my tire but did not properly inflate my tire and it was under inflated by 11 psi below what the manufacturer recommends. All in all this was a very aggravating experience.
In summary: The front desk staff are great, but some of the guys working in the shop are incompetent and unwilling to own up to making a mistake. I do not...

Got 4 new tires not even a week ago to have my Tire Management System Sensors to go off. Upon brining the vehicle into the shop to have them take a look at it they gave me the idea that I had a nail in my tire (which I knew was not the case) or they said the sensors were going bad and needed to be replaced (hard to believe on a vehicle that was brand new in 2023).
I received a call after an hour of Costco having my car that I needed to come back and discuss some things.
Upon arrival I was met by the 3 gentlemen who worked there on 2/4/25 (all very nice and professional), they had my tires off the car and ready to show me that the TPMS Sensors were not broken. After consulting with the 3 men for about 10-15 minutes they kept telling me the sensors were in tact but indeed not functioning (3 out of 4). I let them know that I brought them a perfectly fine car that had 0 lights on the dashboard now that they 1) replaced the tires and 2) probably messed around with the sensors; they were persistent that they did not cause the damage and I should go to the dealer.
I then asked to speak to a manager and was taken to the administrative center to NEVER TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER! (There was none there @7:15 PM)
The man then came back after wasting now 2 hours of my time, letting me know that Costco will replace the sensors at no cost to me.
Low and behold I get that car back after the sensors have been replaced and all is good/back to normal.
I am writing this to make anyone who gets their tires done here, be aware they will mess with the sensors and have YOU try and pay for it!
This is just terrible customer service and an unnecessary waste of time!
FYI I brought my car in at 6:00PM on a Tuesday and didn't get it back until 8:45/9:00 PM when the store was already closed;...
Read moreHad appointment at the Oceanside Costco tire center to have 4 new tires (purchased on line from Costco) installed. My appointment was for 11 am. I waited in Costco until the job was finished at 3:45pm!!! Almost 5 hrs to replace 4 tires. When I dropped off my car, I was told it might take 1 1/2 hours to 1 3/4 hours because they were busy. Every time I inquired how much longer it would take, I was told it should be soon. But it wasn’t soon. Why do they schedule appointments when they are not prepared to do the job for hours and hours? It was outrageous. The young person at the counter (the only one manning the counter the whole day) was actually very pleasant but they couldn’t do anything about the length of time I had to wait. I will not return to...
