Fruit Warehouse Deli — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

The old owners were AMAZING! New owners are digusting! Been living around the block for 11 years! They know my kids my kids names they were so nice ..haven't been in there for a few months I go in recently and thought I was literally loosing my mind! Felt like someone was following me and watching me. I NEVER been treated like that in this store before ever! Only been treated with respect! The woman so extremely rude and treated me like I was a disgusting person not worthy of being in her store. That was a few weeks ago. My daughter went there yesterday ..afterwards was frantically texting me asking if she looks like someone who would steal? I don't understand they've always been so nice to me why was I treated like that! I realized I forgot to tell her new owners to stay away from there. We will NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT STORE EVER AGAIN! I tell everyone to STAY AWAY!!!! My neighbor said she was also treated the same way! And all she's been hearing from people they've all been treated...

Best place to do your produce shopping. Fruit bowls are amazing, seasonal, fresh. They have fresh bread/rolls. They have bacon/eggs/milk/beer/candy/cheese/yogurt. They have an extensive selection of rice, mustard, mayo, ketchup, seasonings, kimchi, roasted red peppers, dried peppers, salad dressings. The place covers the bases and it is very reasonable. Lettuce, celery, onions, watercress, tomatoes, orange, onions, grapes avocados you name it they have it. All fresh and they have sales on produce that needs to be sold, so it'll be like a head of lettuce for .50 cents or 5 ripe tomatoes for a $1, or 3 peppers for $1 so check out the sale rack, especially if your making sausage and peppers that night or something. I don't know what is going on with this place lately. The past few month things have been terrible! Every time I eat there I end up sick. Anything from the deli counter, whether it is chicken salad, turkey meat, chicken cutlets, has done it to me. The prices increase as you walk from the back of the store to the front. You order a sandwich and they put the price on the wrapper, I don't understand how the price increases at the register. Lets say they put 6.50 on the wrapper, you end up paying at the register. They input their own sales tax, which is not any NY State or Nassau County tax rate. I'm highly disappointed with the experiences I've had there recently. I cannot afford to pay for food and get sick eating it, both money wise and health wise....
