Merrick Golf Course — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

Had a 10:20 tee off, but delayed opening until 11because of frost. Our threesome waited and were second on line when the window opened. Some gentleman with a raspy voice who I assume was management advised me of a rule that I had never heard of and definitely was not in place the week before when something similar occurred.He proceeded to call people who had a tee time after 11 and after a few groups who showed up 40-50 minutes after us were allowed to get out, I went over to him. When I questioned what was happening the mgmt. person said that anyone who had a tee time prior to the delayed opening essentially lost their tee time and that he would try to get us on when the opportunity arose. John Kocienda is a terrible superintendent when it comes to his management of the new, double rider motorized carts: he's placed off limit areas making it difficult for handicapped and seniors to load their golf bag on their rented carts; there's times when there's not enough carts available leaving the handicapped and senior stranded; he loaned out to the Lido Golf Course recently all the Merrick Golf Course carts for an outing, making it impossible for the handicapped and senior player to play golf for that week at the Merrick Golf Course; he got rid of the single rider, handicap carts that were ideal for the handicapped players. He displays a total disregard for the handicapped and senior player and is flagrantly in violation of The Americans With Disabilities Act Someone in authority should step-in and rectify...

If I could give zero stars I would. I showed up to the course at 7am to a long wait. Me playing on my own thought I would have to wait 30 maybe 40 minutes. The wait said 45 mins so I figured at the worst would be that long. I sat for over an 1 and 20 minutes and there were still 4 foursomes a head of me. There was no ranger moving anyone along so, finally I gave up and asked for my money back only to be told no refunds. I mentioned the wait was supposed to be 45 mins and I came as a single the cashier told me the sign says an hour and 15 min now and I know the time when I paid. Great customer service you!!
