One of the park's charms is its diverse wildlife. We spotted various bird species, and adorable bunnies. Unfortunately, we missed the foxes and goats.

Dwarf Goats that take care of trail maintenance, windmill, sundial, and from the top one can see NYC, Jones Beach, Hofstra, etc. Cannot recommend enough this beautiful place. It means so much to me. In the late summer/early fall the sun sets between the two smokestacks. In the summer afternoons and evenings, when at the top of the park near the sundial calendar, you can hear and see clearly the little league games that happen below. All of the trails use seashells that would have otherwise gone to waste in construction of the park. It should be noted that so many of the amazing aspects of the park are supported through Eagle Scouts and volunteer work.
