New York Elks Lodge — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

This review will be a bit lengthy………pros and cons for parties booked for 2022 & 2023. VM Banquets is contracted with the Elks Club, Lynbrook, NY to handle the parties in the catering hall. This review is no reflection on the Elks Club as they are a respectable organization. This review is based solely on VM Banquets (owner: Veronica)

We had a family holiday gathering there year 2022 and it was fantastic. The room was great size and very clean. Veronica allowed us to bring in our own food as we have traditional family dinner dishes we wanted to make. She supplied the servers, bartender, buffet tables, set up tables with linens and the staff there handled the clean up. Our holiday gathering was such a success we booked it for 2023.

2023 holiday holiday party. The entire day was a success with the exception of the catering company VM Banquets who is owned by Veronica. From the beginning of the party to the end Veronica had 0% professionalism. She was extremely rude the entire time to anyone that came in contact with her. She yelled at the kids outside to clean up their mess. Note – the kids (10 of them) had cones blocking an area for them to play safely. There was corn hole, a frisbee, sidewalk chalk and a football – very small amount of games. Veronica proceeded to pull out more chairs around dinner time for people claiming we had more people which she counted incorrectly as everyone had a seat. The room was booked until 6 pm. A little after 5 pm she had the staff cleaning up the tables and they removed everything from the tables while the party was still going on. Full dishes of untouched desserts and drinks were removed as well. After the party we recapped the evening and more stories unfolded from all family members of how ill- mannered she was.

Veronica is in the service industry and by no means is it easy but it does not give her the right to be as rude to all the guests as she was the entire time. We did all the cooking and brought all the food in which is the hardest part of a party. The rest is easy and does not justify her actions.

I do not recommend using VM Banquets (owner: Veronica)...

We held my Mom's 75th Birthday Celebration at the Lodge on March 19th, 2016 & it was FANTASTIC!!!!

Mom was overwhelmed when she made her grand entrance into the room - She enjoyed the entire atmosphere that was created for her; it was a was wonderful night!

Everyone enjoyed themselves; the food, the bar, the table settings & the staff were all great! Ellen & her staff are extremely efficient & met all our needs even going above & beyond for several of our late arriving guests!!! Ellen even volunteered to go meet & escort some of our guests who were lost!!!!

I would highly recommend the Elks Lodge#1, Ellen & her staff for your next event!!

had my son’s 1st birthday and baptism here last weekend. What a great experience. From my first contact until we left the night of the party it was wonderful. Emails and texts were responded to promptly and professionally. Veronica anticipated my needs and provided excellent service. The staff during the party were delightful and very helpful. The food was as delicious! I couldn’t have been happier and highly recommend the Elks Lodge...
