McQuades Neighborhood grill — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

We went for brunch on Sunday but didn't purchase any brunch food. I thought the food was good. The place is huge with a nice bar and separate restaurant area. The staff was welcoming and attentive.

There was a lovely little muffin/bagel basket on the table with cream cheese and jellies.

The spinach artichoke dip was very smooth and the chips were really good; I love that it came with salsa.

The Caesar salad was also good; it was very citrusy. I liked it a lot. It had a nice crispness.

The steak tid-bits were a little overdone but I think that's because they must have broiled them just to brown the cheese which in turn overly browned the edges of the steak; it still remained tender, however.

I ordered the French dip, rare, and got it that way! The sweet potato fries were good and the au jus wasn't salty.

They had the Vikings/Saints game on every TV throughout. There were lots of fans at the bar.

Already not happy brough an older gentleman in for the crab cake blt… seems it has not been on the menus for a bit ???? Ok. Asked for some bread for table ….. NO MORE BREAD SINCE COVID SERIOUSLY… ok next time will not be here …… not impressed … not sure what Covid and bread have in common but whatever …..ok so waited for food …. Very unhappy. Went last night - if you’re not a regular plan to be basically ignored by the waitress. Had to go to the bar to get my mom another beer - while waitress chatted with all the regulars. The worst part - I asked for more water (too bad no one noticed my empty glass the whole meal) - the waitress took a pitcher of water from another table that had just left ( a table of 6 - with kids ) and poured me water from that table. I was shocked! To take food/drink from one table and serve it to someone else? Disgusting. I will...
