I'm so happy that there's great ramen restaurants around my house. I ordered the tan-tan ramen and added chashu, spice and butter on the side, and extra egg. As I sat and waited for my bowl to be delivered to me, I browsed through their website and saw on the information page that they take like 6 hours for the broth and twenty-four hours for the egg and extra time for the chashu and it made my heart melt. Not many of the ramen shops I've been to in the u.s. tell their customers how much time goes into each one of these components. The fact that this place does reflects the care and pride that Japanese ramen shops have and just makes me so happy. First taste of the broth without the spice or added butter and it was able stand on its own as greatness. The chashu was barbeque-y and soft. It tasted fresh off the grill and fell apart in my chopsticks. The egg was chilly on the inside, which I usually don't like, but I could tell that 24 hour marinade had done its job. It was a little sweet, very savory, and jelly on the inside. I think usually I expect more runny/gooey but didn't care today. After adding the cup of spice and one square of butter, the bowl took off. I can honestly say that normally I'm let down by the amount of burn from "American" ramen shops. When I added the spice to this bowl it actually had a level of bite that most people are not used to. I loved every slurp. The noodles were thin and (once again) I usually don't go for thin noodle bowls but it seemed to work very very well with this thick broth because the tighter clumps of noodles seemed to lock on to the broth even better. Every single bite was full of flavor and enjoyment. Instead of the broth all falling back into my spoon and into the bowl as I ate, it stayed stuck to the noodles and ended up on my lips causing me to have to lick my lips constantly in order to get all of that deliciousness in my face. Again, I'm so happy that places like this are nearby. If you find yourself in Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, New York definitely make a stop here at Ni Ramen because you won't be let down. I'll be coming back! @niramenbar #spicynoodles #spicyramen...
Read moreOverall not a bad place however it definitely seems to be more for the younger crowd as it has a trendy feel not so much traditional.
While the food was pretty good, there were some short comings in some other areas.
I ordered the tan tan ramen and my girlfriend the shio. Overall, both presentations were very nice. Colorful and neatly presented as expected of a good ramen spot.
Takoyaki appetizer: 7/10 Good flavor, nice chunks of octopus Sauces could be a little better
We ordered extra noodles and it was a hefty amount
Tan Tan: 8/10 Silky Broth Decent level of spice Ground beef was a bit overpowering to the broth Noodle firmness was good Egg was beautifully made Chasu was so soft it was almost slimy feeling
Shio: 9/10 Very flavorful Distinct chicken taste with a light seafood aftertaste Delicious wavy noodles Great cohesion of ingredients overall
Aesthetically: 5/10 Layout is a bit strange with the kitchen/counter being so close to the front door Music doesn't really match the aethetic of a ramen spot, definitely more for younger crowd They don't have someone keeping watch of customers at all times Small water glasses means waiters constantly have to come over or be called over to refill water Flower wall doesn't really fit the atmosphere. Cherry blossoms in more of a tree pattern would fit the Japanese atmosphere The drinking glasses smelled a bit funky Soap residue on the chirirenge (ramen spoon)
Overall, as mentioned, the food is pretty good and it is not a bad price. I do think the quality of the food somewhat justifies its price but I have had better ramen for cheaper. This is definitely a good spot for the younger crowd but I expect as it gets busier, wait times will become much longer as it seemed to have very...
Read moreMe and my company stopped in at Ni Ramen for a quick meal before our movie. We ordered a Lychee Martini, 2 Tayoyaki’s, the french fries and 3 bowls of ramen (Tantan, Shoyo, and Tonkatsu) when I say the french fries were the best thing- they really were and that’s a stretch. Everything was NOT HOT, it is a weird feeling expecting a warm bowl of ramen and being met with mismatched ingredients some being cold and some being lukewarm; which includes the broth. The noodles were basic shin ramen noodles and the broth was just oil and bullion cubes. I ended up not eating mine while my company tried to eat theirs, but you know when your garbage disposal boyfriend won’t eat it..It’s bad. BEWARE: Our chashu was not cooked all the way and was pink! The bowls of ramen range from 15-18 without any add ons, and we would have been better off just grabbing movie theatre food. If I wanted a pack of ramen, I’d do it myself! 🤣 Our waiter was very kind and courteous, and the atmosphere of the place had a nice vibe, but it is very cramped, very small. So for someone with a disability or has a hard time getting around, this may not be the place for you. It could have just been a bad day for...
