Reef Shark Aquarium Inc — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

This store is a brand new addition to the many reef/saltwater specialized fish stores on long island, and I just have to say that its my favorite after the first visit. The owner and his wife are very kind, and the store has a clean and fresh look to it. The fish and corals are more than reasonably priced, and look insanely healthy. Today I purchased one of their leopard wrasses, and just watching the care that went into catching and bagging the fish blew me away. This fish was so healthy that by the time I acclimated her, she didn't even attempt to burrow into the sand, but went right for the pods on the glass, and within the first few minutes she was eating frozen food. This store just started up, but the livestock selection is more than admirable, with lots more to come. Their dry goods stock isn't complete yet, but by the looks of the food selection they have, I could tell that they definitely know what they are doing. I've been to this store a few times and have had nothing but good experiences. Their selection of affordable corals, inverts, and fish make them a must visit to any reefer.

As a novice reefer myself, their selection of inexpensive frags ($10 & $20) which include zoas, blastos, acans, hammers and even montis and digis helps keep things affordable.

They also have a wider selection of soft corals, lps and sps that are priced reasonably for larger pieces and colonies.

Their fish selection i would say is average. Assorted tangs, angels and damsels that are priced averagely.

I first want to say that this place is definitely worth the visit. It is a relatively new establishment being 3 months old at the time of writing this. It is a small and quaint little shop but the inventory is quality. I picked up a pair of wild Hawaiian True Percula Clowns which I had been searching for since I started my Red Sea Reefer 250 2 months ago.
