Renovated/overhauled, clean waterfront park with a pier & playground. The pier has a very small walk-off outlet to the water where you can carry a SMALL, 1-3 person boating vehicle like an "inflatable" or a paddleboard to fish or explore the shallow Bay. I've seen people splash in the water at the water outlet & I constantly see small stingrays searching for food in the sand there. The fishing here DEF isn't what it used to be years ago before the "hurrikaine Sandy" renovations. I've recently heard of Individuals catching random, small fish from the locals fishing, but when using my potable sonar, I rarely see anything sizable out there as the bay from the pier is shallow waters & it seems that most of the South Shore bays "seem" to suffer from "overfishing." Also, there are boats constantly passing thru that probably "scare off" sizable fish from coming too close. The fishing is probably best at night when everything is calm & the bigger fish come in to feed. This waterfront also has a decent children's play ground with swing sets, a jungle gym, an empty 20 ft boat for play, a sand pit, etc. They also have public restrooms & a few picnic tables. I'm not sure what time they open but they close @ dusk. I find it a nice place to visit & I do...
Read moreThe walking path is dangerous it needs to be repaved. You can also tell they have not cleaned up since Sandy the hurricane. When the water rises above the railing and there is debris still laying around all over the grass and walkway like old fishing nets all over the place. This is supposed to be the main attraction for this town and they don't maintain it even a little bit. Really sad if I lived here I would get together neighbors and we would go there and clean The amount of taxes that are paid in New York and Long Island are ridiculous and none of it goes to cleaning a small park 🏞️ if it's that, the people who are maintaining the park don't do their job then put them in different position cuz I know you guys can't fire them for some reason . And hire somebody who actually cares about the way things look . Parks and recreation is a joke in this town where does your budget go? Sandy hit in 2012 and you haven't cleaned up the debris from that hurricane in this park....
