Agua on the Mile — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Went here for my wife bday. We arranged VIP area with mgmt a few days beforehand. The GOOD: food (steak/chicken/chicken tacos/plantains/guac and chips) were excellent and plentiful. They gave a great amount of choice from the menu for their pre-fixe drinks (sangria) were excellent (and I don't care for sangria but I drank it all night). Other drinks from the bar received no complaints pre-fixe price for group of 20 was very good and included tax/tip which is not common great vibe very visible security great music - good mix, everybody heard something they liked and not too loud you couldn't hold a conversation. entire party thoroughly enjoyed service was pretty good altho I had to search for our waitress a couple times

The NOT SO GOOD: as we arrived, we were informed that the males in our party would have to pay at the gate to enter. This was NOT mentioned or agreed to beforehand. Owner made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and he had no control since some group was holding some promotion that night and "they controlled the door". This VERY bad business. I ended up paying for my people to enter since I had not told anyone there would be a door-charge. Very aggravating. My wife had a friend who was planning to have her party there in Aug and altho we had a good time, because of this nasty tactic, she decided to go elsewhere. we almost had to cancel before the event because the owner was trying to change the terms of our agreement - like trying to a include a 4 bottle minimum purchase for the VIP area. After some finagling, the wife was able to work this out. nit-pick - we didn't have enough seat cushions for the VIP area. Not sure why they didn't have...

Let me start by saying they have tight security at the gate. Your searched throughly for your safety. this place has a crowd of different ages, and I was enjoying the outdoor deck with the view of the party boats passing by. The food was delicious and surprisingly served fast I would say within 20-25 minutes the food was coming to the table. The chef helped us order our food and personally made it for us and assisted with our server to make sure that we were happy with our meal. This was our first time here, and we enjoyed our first experience with the food and the vibe. The people were so friendly and the staff were friendly and helpful and they were always politely clearing off our table when we were done with anything. The music was great the DJ mixed up the different genre with something for everyone. The vibe was high and everyone was having a great evening.they also offer vip section and bottle service. Went there for the first time last Sunday. We had waitress Jaime and she was good until her friends showed up. She then passed our table of 6 to her co-worker Bada. Bada was good until he came to our table and asked us to close our tab of $300+ and move to somewhere else bc he stated the table we were sitting at was for only people who were purchasing bottle service. We had buffalo wings on the table that was terrible and we had French fries with mashed his as well still eating when he said we had to move. Plus we also purchased 2 Hookahs that he told us we would have to move.
