First impressions, they have a parking lot which is a luxury on the mile. The signage for entry was lacking and ended up walking around the building like the walls of Jericho before we could find out how to get in. The servers watched us go to the wrong place and didn't help or redirect.
From our approach the first thing that I was hit with was overwhelming music. I have sound sensitivity and the volume of everything made this local celebratory event and auditory nightmare. We were sat in the birthday section and between the loud music and birthday shouts and bubbles. You read that right, bubbles. They shot bubbles in people's food, hair and drinks with each birthday celebration. The owners went around greeting folks and shaking hands which I thought was a nice touch, but when he came to us, he looked as us and decided we weren't worth greeting and kept walking.
The server had to scream at us to get our order. She was kind and sweet, probably the best thing about this place. She asked if we were celebrating anything. I shared that we here for me becoming a two time best selling author only 3 years after starting writing. She went to go share with others but I requested the lack of screaming and dancing and bubbles. Once she left we were meet with explicit muci lyrics of derogatory statements about women. Gun shots and overwhelming bass drowned out any good vibes I could muster up. So I took out my phone and started working this review. This may be the thing I do now with my new found time and talents of writing. Going from restaurant to restaurant on Long Island sharing my experiences. I understand I am a conservative black Christian living in a woke world, but is a quiet meal with my love too much to ask for on a Sunday afternoon? Let's hope the food is busting!!
As I would expect, everything can't be excellent. The food however came out in less than 15 minutes and was very tasty. Due to the noise, my order was mixed up and I got lemon pepper wings, which I hate!! They corrected the issue and even gave us a complimentary fries. The wings I actually ordered, chipotle BBQ were slamming!! The sauce was sweet with a hint of spice that caught you by surprise well after you ate it. The ambiance outside of the noise was very upscale as well as the attire of its patrons. There was almost a family feel as the deejay shouted out frequenters who arrived. Everyone but us knew to get reservations so you didn't get stuck in front of the speaker.
Overall, I'd say it was an interesting experience to attend a day party that we never RSPV'd for. If you're looking for great food and quick fast friendly service. Then come and support PRIME on the mile. If you're looking for a quiet lunch or brunch, then this place is not for you. Day party meets fashion show is how I can classify it. Will I be back? Maybe 🤔. Who am I kidding, that chipotle BBQ sauce has me still smiling...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Prime on the Mile was nothing short of a scam. My friends and I were grossly overcharged. We were in the middle of conversation when the waiter Shay K came over for payment, she didn’t provide an itemized bill and asked us how we would like to pay. She did not tell us the total amount or show us our bill. She then said that we each would owe $152 without showing any breakdown. Nor were we asked to sign for the charge, she signed our signatures. We left the restaurant, but upon realizing the amount was far too high, we returned to question it. Shay K was unfazed and had no explanation. She didn't give any explanation as to why we were charged $456 for a $289 bill. I asked her to show us our bill and she just showed me the drinks from our bill. I then asked to see a print out of the bill and she came back with our credit card payment receipt. At this point after such a runaround I requested to speak to the manager, she claimed the manager was in a meeting, but I saw the manager on the floor, ignoring us.
To rectify the situation, Shay K promised to refund the $152 charged to our cards and give us the cash back. However, when she handed us the cash, she took it directly from her pocket without going to the register. Additionally, despite asking her to print the correct bill, she never did. Our actual bill should have been $289, but we were charged significantly more. There was no apology for such a huge mistake and for the manager to avoid dealing with this situation is so unprofessional. I won't be returning to this restaurant and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to. The food is subpar and the drinks were watered down. I've paid less for better food and service. The level of deceit is unacceptable! Save yourself the headache and avoid this place. Prime on the Mile...
Read moreI always support Black establishment that are giving us a place to enjoy ourselves especially in Nassau County, NY. I have been to,"Prime On The Mile"on numerous occasions so my experience with the food and entertainment have been top notch with no problems. Security has always made me feel comfortable and confident that I can relax not worrying about something negative happening. The glaring problem is the pricing of the drinks which always inconsistent. On the website the drinks are listed a certain price, but when you are at the establishment especially downstairs outside it's totally different. Example; l order a Ginger Beer from the outside downstair bartender she charged $10, but when I order the same thing at the upstairs patio the bartender charge $5. I told him there must be a mistake due to the fact of what I was charged previously and he assured me it wasn't on my part, I was overcharge, and would take care of this misunderstanding. He returned with another Ginger Beer and apologized for the mix up and will enquiry why there was an overpayment. I have other examples which involve overpayment of bottle service which Manager step in and took care of it, but consistency and reasonable prices are imperative especially an establishment which our people manage. We like having a good time listening to music, dancing, eating, and especially DRINKING,but should not be Nickel and Dime or having the Manager always stepping in to resolve things. Understanding the Restaurant business is very stressful and bottle line very important to maintain survival, but the customers are just as important. Will always support Black business that are positive and establishment that are vital in our community hopefully this problem as I am typing has already...
