I had an amazing experience at Secrets on the Mile in Freeport, NY! Hands down, some of the best Caribbean food I’ve ever had. The oxtail with mac and cheese was absolutely incredible—tender, flavorful, and clearly cooked with extra love. The coconut shrimp deserves GOAT status, perfectly crispy with the right balance of sweetness and spice. And the jerk chicken tacos? Next level—packed with flavor that hits just right. What I really love is that every dish tastes like it was made with care. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food with flavor that leaves you wanting more, this is the spot. Plus, the indoor and outdoor seating makes it a perfect vibe whether you’re coming for dinner, drinks, or just to chill. šŸ”„ Definitely a must-visit in Freeport—I’ll be back for sure!

Visited with a party of 10 and unfortunately had a very underwhelming experience. We waited over an hour for our food, and one of my friends still didn’t receive his shrimp and grits by the time we left. I ordered the $35 salmon and eggs (which was supposed to come with a salad)—none was served, and it wasn’t even acknowledged. Our server was kind but clearly inexperienced, which added to the frustration. I understand the restaurant is new, but that shouldn’t excuse poor service and mediocre execution—especially when patrons are spending hard-earned money to enjoy a quality experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this place based on my visit.

The waitress was pleasant but couldn’t keep up with the demands. The dining room’s music was very loud. I was expecting to taste exceptional fusion food but the 6 tasteless wings for $18 with not even a piece of celery was disappointing. I ordered fish on a Coco bread. The bread was burnt and the fish had no taste. The bread and tomato overpowered the fish. My husband had noodles with oxtails. It’s still sitting in the refrigerator, he only ate 2 bites. With a $100 dinner bill. This was not a good choice for our 3 month anniversary.

I like the restaurant was a vibe and different from other restaurants I been to but, however I wake up 1:00 this morning stomach doing twist n turns so I got up to excuse myself and as I’m in the bathroom (TW WARNING I SHARE MY BUSINESS HERE) I end up throwing up and having Diarrhea so I didn’t think nothing of it. So after I just got up and clean myself went back to bed didn’t think nothing I cannot sleep for this whole night mind you my stomach is still doing twist and turns so I got back up and excuse myself the 2nd time so I’m like gosh. what did I eat and I remembered I had went to this restaurant yesterday and had a pretty big meal but I was like maybe it’s just my belly not handling the food well so I use it the 2nd time and end up vomiting again and having diarrhea and MIND YOU AS IM VOMITING I see blood so I’m like okay? that’s weird there’s blood so I’m like ok ykw maybe my belly not really handling this so well after all so I’m like I’ll just drink tea in the morning got up cleaned and went back to bed so as I’m trying to sleep the pain away I can’t obviously it’s bothering me so I’m like omg so I run back to the bathroom a 3rd time I fijally pushed out what I’ve been holding in I’m like finally omg and I got up cleaned myself but my stomach was hurting a little but I was maybe it’s just aftermath of all that so I go back to bed fine but NO the pain got worse so I started worrying so I run back to the bathroom I’m so confused and there’s a thought that’s comes to my mind do I have food poisoning? And I’m like noooo it’s probably just a reg stomach ache but I was so curious I searched up symptoms of stomach ache and I see almost half of what what I’m experiencing so I’m like overthinking and at the same time I’m denying maybe I’m just begin dramatic and AS WE SPEAK MY STOMACH STILL hurts idk what’s going on I never experience something like this but later on I’m gonna go get checked out to see if I have...

First visit to celebrate my Dad's birthday and it was so worth it. He had the best celebration here and the most warming welcome Chris let us choose where we would like to be seated and made sure everything was perfectly fine. It was nine of us, food tasted so good, many choices to choose from and every single thing we ordered was so good, crab fritters, rasta pasta with sweet chili salmon, lamb, jerk chicken and stuffed lobster and drinks. The DJ made you feel like you can stay there all day long really good and the atmosphere 10 out of 10, I will be planning more of my birthday celebration here, really love the fact that you spend your money and enjoy everything and have a great time. Never rushed us out and our waitress was sweet and attentive to us. The only one problem the timing of the food, waited a while plus some got their food before others so some were finished eating by time others got their food, they need to work on that. Overall so happy never been to a place where food , good vibes, comfort and atmosphere is all in one place. Thanks for making us feel comfortable, we'll...

The food here is so delicious! We had the shark bites and the plantain cups stuffed with chicken and with salt fish to start, and I had the lobster stuffed with crabmeat served on mashed potatoes as my main - soooo good! I had no room for dessert but next time I’m totally getting a sweet bite to end my meal. Our waitress Nicole was great, super attentive. My passion fruit margarita was so tasty (shout out to Bri behind the bar, she did her thing!!) but then I overheard someone else order a spicy margarita (that wasn’t even on the menu but I’m definitely getting that next time, lol!) And the music was vibes! After dinner we walked up and down the strip but Secrets on the Mile had by far the best DJ so we came back. At one point after the kitchen closed people just got up and started dancing next to their tables. All in it’s a really cool spot and I’ll definitely...
