I will never come here again. I have been shopping at this location for years! As a home designer, I spend A LOT of money in HomeGoods. I frequent many different locations- even out of state -very often. There are store associates who even know me well. I said all this to say that today was the first time that I was made to feel the way I now feel leaving here today. First off security followed us around heavily. I was shopping with my best friend and we had carts overflowing with items.. At one point, they took our carts away and moved them to the front of the store. When we went to retrieve the carts, they made it such a big deal to give them back to us under the false guise that are “ Carts were full” And they were leaving them up there. We literally had to advocate to get our items back as we were still shopping and needed to see all our items together collectively as designers.. Today is Thursday, January 2 and we came at store opening where literally no one else is in store so it’s not as though Our carts were blocking anyone. We were not disruptive nor did we mess up anything in the store . They were very rude And made us feel Overwatched. Then when we were checking out, they all pooled around the registers so that they can watch us Exit the store as though we would have stolen these big comforters and furniture pieces in our pockets. We spent almost $1000 collectively here in the last24 hours And were made to feel so low. I will not be coming to this location anymore. Read moreMy wife and I Bought 3 storage food containers from this location yesterday. Upon returning home, we realized that ONE of the items was damaged. It was on the bottom of the container. I returned the next day with the unopened package and asked if I could exchange the item as we did not realize the $11 item was slightly damaged. I explained that we have a new born at home and due to Lack of sleep we did not realize when we bought the item that it was damaged on the underside. Unfortunately, they stated they were unable to do anything about it . NO refund , exchange or store credit. As a parent of a new born child, I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the lack of empathy and ridiculousness of not being able to return an item with its original packaging that had a hidden area of damage. We kept the other 2 food containers that were not damaged…we were only asking to return the one that had damage. EXTREMELY disappointed in the lack of empathy and unreasonableness of this location and employees. Perhaps corporate can evaluate this location . There are MULTIPLE items on the FLOOR that are damaged…I will not be returning to this location....
Read moreFirst time having a bad experience...I found a steel garbage can on sale originally $100.00 got it for $50.00...when I got to the register Karen inspected the can and gave the manager the eye like get over here she switched prices and I asked her was there a problem and she told me all red tag items had to be cleared by manager..I knew that was a lie and so did she...because she got upset and walked away and wouldn't ring me up...so here are photos from the Commack Homesense where they have there cans on clearance to. The manager wasn't called regarding my red tag purchase...and her name is really Karen at the Melville store...be careful when you purchase red tag items at the Melville Homegoods.
