A/S Pork Store & Italian Fine Foods of East Islip — Attraction in Town of Islip

Giving out 5 stars is not usual for me. For AS Pork Stores there should be 10 stars. I've been going for 40 years starting in Massapequa then moved to Prt Jefferson and was happy to find one there, till they closed sadly. I'm thankful though that there's one in E Islip and they hold up to the excellence that the others had. I tried a couple of other local Italian stores but sadly they didn't come close. So though it's a ride to get there I'm grateful to have that food again. Their hot sausages and the sweet with fennel are to die for! The quality of their imported parmesan cheese can't be beat. It's fantastic. Their other meats and salads too are so filled with those luscious flavors. Thank you A S Pork Stores for doing what you do and doing it better than anyone else. I am a pretty tough reviewer and a Level 7 Google Master Guide. I rarely give out 5 stars as I believe that this number should be reserved for very special places. Please check my review history to see how tough I can be. Anyone, these folks have amazing food. Their fresh Mozzarella is the best that I have ever tasted and I have tasted it at 100's of places! Their home made roast beef and turkey are also the best that I have EVER tasted. In addition, all of their Italian specialties are wonderful! They also have aged beef that is excellent. Finally, the employees are 5 star friendly adding greatly to the enjoyment of your visit. You can't go wrong...

I moved to this area 4 years ago and have shopped in this store since. I grew up on A&S sausage and the sausage here is good but smaller links to the store in Massapequa. I preferred the Massapequa store to this one but didn't want to take the 1/2 ride. The last couple of times I have been there I was really disappointed in the slicing of my cold cuts. Had the same young man both times and yesterday I dreaded ordering prosciutto but gave him another chance. I got thick uneven slices. Going to make the trek back to the Massapequa store from now on, more authentic in my opinion. A customer since the 1960's...
