I just love Hobby Lobby! Usually I go to the Massapequa location but tonight I didn’t feel like traveling west and went east instead to the Bayshore location. I felt like this was a better location than Massapequa but I can’t put my finger on why. I had to buy fabric and a few other elements for a crochet purse I am making. Fabric selection not as large as Joann’s but staff was way friendlier than even the hey-day of Joann’s and I was able to find fabric that met my needs. Staff went out of their way to help me find other needed items, all with a smile! And as a bonus I found quite a few other things I wanted for the house, both indoor and out. Store was very clean and well lit. And I didn’t know they even have furniture! I always enjoy sauntering through the aisles picking up things I didn’t know I needed! Huge selection of stuff! Smaller selection of yarn than I would like, but I love the free...
Read moreIt's a neat arts & crafts store, and for me it's easier to get to than Michael's, which I would say is a comparable store. I was able to find some unusual supplies, such as india inks and model kit supplies (specific paints and weathering materials, epoxies, airbrush supplies) that I would otherwise be forced to order online. They have a little bit of everything.
Quite literally my only complaint would be the weird, subtle religious emphasis throughout the store. To be fair, this is a brand-wide thing, not relegated to this specific store. In every department you'll find something Jesus- or Cross-related. I'm just trying to buy some art supplies for my Gundam models, man. I'm also gay, and historically that doesn't go over particularly well with some religious folks, so it adds a weird discomfort to the...
Read moreAwesome! The biggest problem is that they are soooooo good! From the products to the staff, it is always a pleasant experience. If they don't have it, it doesn't exist, lol. Seriously, their store is as big as a mega-supermarket, and they have the products pleasantly displayed in appropriate sections that make it fairly simple to find what you need. They will also have things that you never knew you needed, so I recommend that you go with a written list, because it is REAL easy to fill a cart with $2 to $5 items and then wonder, at the register, how did I pick up $150 worth of...
But still, its better to have too much and then put some things back, than to not get what you came for. Give them a chance, and they will show you that you are indeed a creative person.
Thanks for listening and good...
