Buseto Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Islip

Terrible service. I walk in and order my food, and I patiently take a seat at the table closest to the register while I wait for the food to be done. After 20 minutes go by, I start to become impatient and decide that I’m going to give them 10 more minutes before I ask for my money back. Mind you, you could walk into any regular restaurant and you most likely won’t wait more than 30 minutes for full entrees. Never mind PIZZA. So finally I walk up to the very nice girl and I calmly tell her I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes and I would just like a refund. She’s not sure how to handle it so she tells her manager. He comes up and says that the food should be ready already, and he was right. It had been sitting there for who knows how long. Then he claims that they had called my name. Please remember that I was sitting there at the closest table doing absolutely nothing but waiting for my food. I was even looking at them making eye contact just waiting. So I’m 100% sure my name was never called. And then I’m sitting there for 30 minutes at a pizzeria with no food. None of them realized? No one could ask if I needed help? So the manager claims he called my name which he 100% didn’t, then proceeds to hand me my food without an apology or anything. I tell him no thank you I just want my money back now. Again, apparently he can’t handle my problem either. He starts speaking to another man in Italian not knowing that I know just enough to understand that he was bad mouthing me in another language right in front of me and other people. I couldn’t believe it. So the next man comes up and asks the problem and once again I just say I want my money back because I’ve been waiting 30 minutes for pizza. He takes the food that’s sitting right in front of me and aggressively tosses it into the garbage. At this point I’m shocked because they’re acting like I did something wrong for waiting patiently for my food. He finally refunds me and that’s the end. Not one apology. Nothing. Just them bad mouthing me in Italian and an angry toss of food into the garbage....

I've been going here for years. Yesterday i encountered something absolutely distasteful. I ordered a chicken sandwich with cheese. (I did not want the basil or pepper on it). So i wouldve thought they would make a fresh one, instead the girl opened the sanwich that was avaialable and pulled out the pepper and basil with her bare hand, no gloves and definitely after handling monetary activities. I straight forward told her that that was disgusting and had i known she would do that i would have just done it myself. So i asked her to just give me the one with the pepper and basil. I work in hospitality myself and know that is UNACCEPTABLE. She was needless to say very annoyed with me and i refused to leave the counter and wait for my whole order elsewhere to be sure she didnt replace the items and just give me that same one. I will not be returning because not only was this poor practice, the atmosphere is not friendly anymore and they are WAY too overpriced. They need to be taught how to handle food appropriately, and how to be more customer friendly and need to separate food handling and financial...

I thought twice before posting this but I here I go. Of course the pizza is great, I've come for years. However, times have changed. I walked into the parlor and right away there's a sign every one needs to come in wearing a mask. I place my order and I wait. Then I notice this young man coming from the kitchen area wearing no mask, then I notice a few other people standing in the back area as well where I suppose the dishes are washed and other kitchen items handled and NO ONE is wearing a mask! I immediately feel uncomfortable and ask the guy who took my order and placed my pizza in the oven why we are required to wear one but the staff isn't, he went blank and silent. Then said it was difficult for them because of the heat! Then I heard one of them sneezing!! I'm just glad the heat killed whatever bacteria and viruses there were on my pizza. I'm not coming back...
