Terrible customer service on Friday, June 6, 2025 between 10:30am - 11am. I went in to the New Hyde Park location to buy my children some gifts for Eid day celebration. The employee, a young black woman with very long nails and long hair extensions, at the front of the store, did not greet us after clearly seeing 4 of us walk through the door. At the end of our shopping, we approached check out, which is self check out but the same employee was there to assist. Again, we were ignored. She just stood there, until a lady behind me approached the checkout. That's when I realized I wasn't imagining the employees' blatant disregard for me and my children. The employee greeted the woman behind me with a smile and asked if she needed any help. She then proceeded to scan the womans' items for her and printed out her receipt. I'm just there scanning my items as the employee closes out the 1st womans order and thats when another woman approached check out and received the same courtesy and warm treatment from the employee. After I finished my order, I walked by the same employee and not even a "Have a good day, sir". Just ice cold! Usually, I would not really care but this employees treatment felt deliberate. Maybe I reminded her of someone she doesn't like but you leave your personal issues at home when you show up to work. This reflects horribly on the store itself, which is usually a nice experience. I really hope that management addresses this young lady about how to exercise customer service without bias. I hope I never run into her again. It was a very disturbing and uncomfortable experience which my children...
Read moreOh. My. God. Enter at your own risk. Never seen this store in the west coast so i was thinking…hmmm, dollar tree vibes maybe? Hell, no! I came in looking for 4th of july decors and came out with a million other stuff i think i need- but really, i can live without. They have got everything! Nice place if you’re looking for small presents that doesnt cost a lot. Lots of little cute stuff for children and pre teens. They even have books! Love their hobby section where my daughter found lots of artistic items that will come in handy for art school. So, you think- it’s only $5… man, they do add up. So go in without kids- easier, coz they will for sure start pointing at stuff they will want. Better quality than what you’lll find at the Dollar Tree store…and no, i didn’t end up getting any 4th of...
Read moreThe store is nice and offers good prices. However, the problem lies with the workers. I purchased a couple of items and went to the self-checkout. I accidentally grabbed the wrong gift wrapping paper, which was worth $5, and I wanted to replace it with a $1 gift wrapper. I called a black African American girl for assistance, doing so respectfully. She approached me, made a face, didn't say anything, and then walked away. After a while, she returned to with a different associate to help us, but her attitude was terrible, and she continued to make unpleasant faces. If she's unhappy in her job, she should consider another line of work. It was completely...
