The gentleman who seemed to be the front desk manager was a little rude about helping when you walk in with a what do you want kind of attitude and aggressive when directing us to our table. Our waitress was nice enough but elderly and set in her ways, now don't get me wrong I usually prefer that because they have the experience in life and they know how to treat the customers right. Our waitress was lovely she took her time to write out everything we ordered and did so correctly as she showed us (not because we were asking) and yet out of the 5 of us at this table 2 of us got the wrong food entirely and the 3rd guy got homefries when he asked for no homefries but no biggie he could just eat around it. The thing that made me shake my head was when she forgot all of our toast and when we reminded her she came back with everybody's white wheat and rye in a messy pile together on one little side plate none of it cut. If I were with family it's no big deal but this was a business strategy breakfast before a trade show we invited people there because it was close to headquarters and had a sign saying #1 in long Island which it was far from and it wasn't the worst but considering we had 3 of those people flying in from different states it was a little embarrassing. We have some really good diners on this island that deserve that kind of credit. Some of the staff was really nice and seemed to give apologizing looks about what was going on especially with the rude guy. And I want to give these guys another chance because the food was good. The atmosphere was a little rundown and stale but I kind of like places with a little patina. If I go back it will probably be alone to test the waters before having any business breakfast/ lunches there which would have...
Read moreI’m taking the time to write this more out of disappointment than anything else. My boyfriend and I have been going here for 6+ years and prior to us meeting his parents have been coming here even longer than that. It would be one thing if it was just the food or just the service but it’s been both unfortunately. The quality of the food has just declined over the last few years. I’m not sure if it’s new cooks or what but today in specific my French toast was cut so thick the inside was still a little raw and my boyfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich on a roll that was toasted when he didn’t ask for it to be so it was dry on top of the whole sandwich order itself being wrong. Time before this stopped us from coming here for almost a year. Service this time is what really turned us off. Aside from our breakfast orders being on one plate all of the items were different temps. My bacon and omelette were cold, my side of sausage was piping hot. The toast was forgotten about and brought to us after the fact so it was cold. My bf had one cup of coffee the whole meal, not one person came by to refill it. Our waitress was so incredibly nasty and had such an attitude, place wasn’t swamped either so we couldn’t understand it. When we were leaving we brought it up to the manager and his response, also with a bit of an attitude, was something along the lines of “why didn’t you say something sooner?” Why didn’t we say something sooner? We shouldn’t have had to say anything at all. Proper response should’ve been “I’m so sorry that happened I’ll make sure it never happens again” needless to say I don’t think we’ll be coming here for a...
Read moreHad my first bad incident that I've had at your place and I trust and hope it's the last because we really enjoy going to Omega. This morning my guest and I got there around eight. We could already feel the mayhem. One server was running around telling people that she had to pick up the cook and that's why everything is running late. She couldn't have the Cook standing out in the cold waiting for the bus. That party of two with whom she had words left disgruntled. Our difficulty was that we ordered and then 30 minutes later, our server came back and told us she made a mistake and she forgot our order. We then re-ordered and then 15 minutes later she brought out the wrong order. Yes, you read that right. She got the order wrong twice. It already had been 45 minutes to get our food and I did not like the new concoction that she served so I gave it to my guest and just had a breakfast of coffee. I told her that she got the order wrong twice and that we had ordered sausage in the omelette not broccoli, but she told us that we rushed her and that it was our fault. I believe truly that this is an isolated incident and I look forward to coming back to your restaurant. There seems to have been quite a number of people in the diner, more than usual. However, I was quite surprised that neither the server nor the hostess offered an apology or any effort to...
