We happened on the station while visiting the Piermont Pier to catch the action with spawning striped bass moving upriver. This passenger rail station and telegraph office skirts the Palisades above the town and below Route 9W on a steep switch back road. The rails are gone and have been replaced by a hard packed gravel rail trail. We walked from the station to the Mario Cuomo Bridge, but it goes much farther, through Nyack to Haverstraw along the Hudson River and connects to the Tallman Estuary trails. It is also part of the Long Path.
