Sabi Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

The salmon here is amazing! I typically order sushi (not teriyaki) because at most restaurants the salmon is overcooked and the teriyaki sauce is way to sweet. Not here! The salmon is amazing. Melt-in-your-mouth cooked to perfection with a very gourmet teriyaki sauce. I like the lunch special (which is served Wednesday-Saturday) because you get a little bit of everything! My mom and I went on a Sunday during lunch and found out they didn't offer the lunch special on Sundays, but it worked out for the best because we got to try the amazing salmon entree! It's served with rice and bok choy, plus a little tempura sweet potato that is so perfectly cooked! Very upscale, gourmet. I also love the decor! Bizarre (bad customer service) first experience on Saturday night (yesterday). Came in and were given a table. Then just after first rolls were brought, the host stopped by to half-suggest we take them home in a togo box as he needs the table. Literally mentioned to go boxes and that they need table for a reservation along with some other rambling. Bizarre

So: don’t give people a table if you can’t serve them. Your mistake with reservations is not your customers’

Vastly exceeded my expectations for a NJ spot. Nigiri is a bit expensive a la cart but quality is comparable to Japan.

Tuna is excellent. Texture is good, no gristle, cured well, no fishy smell.

“Premium” items were the real deal. You get what you pay for. Chutoro, wagyu, etc. Whoever is buying ingredients is doing a good job.

Good amount of vinegar in rice. Many other places don’t put enough.

Friendly service. No contact QR billpay. Very good
