We were so excited to try Otto's and were so disappointed by the service. I am honestly shocked by the poor service. I'll say that the food and ambiance are lovely, but for this price point in a very "foodie" neighborhood, you need excellent service, as well.

My husband made a reservation several days in advance for a 6:30 table on Friday night. We were called 2 hours before the reservation and told that they overbooked and would we sit at the bar or a hightop. I am 8 months pregnant so that would not be comfortable and we said no. They then said if we would move to 7:15 we could have a regular table. Again, being 8 months pregnant we specifically made the reservation for 6:30 because I get very hungry and then very tired quite early. We agreed to 7:15 because this was a special night out.

We arrived at 7:15 and were asked to wait just a few minutes... 25 minutes later we were finally seated. We watched as several other 7:15 and 7:30 reservations walked in and were asked to wait. The hostess obviously felt bad and was uncomfortable with the situation but this restaurant clearly has no idea how to manage reservations.

After finally being seated at 7:40 we quickly ordered drinks and food. There was no care given for the fact that it was so late - no offer to make it right or send anything over to thank us for our wait. We're not overly fussy people, but we were overly accommodating of the restaurant's reservation screw up and then having to wait. The LEAST they could do is send over a free app to reset the mood and show us they appreciate our business. Or rather, the real least they could do is apologize.

Our appetizers took 35 minutes to come out. In that window of time, I went to the bathroom and happened to bump into the owner. I told her what we had experienced so far, assuming that once made aware she would do something - ANYTHING - to ease our frustrations. And all she did was walk me back to my table. I was truly shocked by this.

After waiting 35 minutes for our appetizers, our entrees then came out before our app plates were even cleared. Ugh. This is just service 101.

Other small service issues included not being given a spoon for the soup or steak knife for the beef. We witnessed the table next to us also not be given silverware when needed. We also asked about a wine selection and the manager suggested 2 bottles to taste and then brought over the wrong one. These aren't huge things, but they all add up to the fact that the service here sucks. I feel for the 18 year old servers who are clearly new to the industry, and honestly, I don't fault them. I HEAVILY fault management and ownership. Get it together. You have a beautiful new restaurant and a clearly talented chef and your poor service (as also noted in other reviews) is going to destroy your reputation.

I am rooting for Otto's and I hope to go back in several months once they have hopefully figured out how to run...

Super mellow atmosphere and indescribably delicious fare! If you think the photos look good, your taste buds will be blown away by how absolutely yummy it all taste! The fried shrimp appetizer was as elegantly presented as it was scrumptious! The fancy pizza is still on my mind. It was better than any scicilian pizza I've ever had! The stuffed chicken breast with spinach and feta served with fingerling potatoes in a buttery sauce and pine nuts was wonderful! The spareribs were a bit spicy for my taste, but I enjoyed one as the meat fell off the bone! The onion rings were great and the creamed spinach was so good it was almost like desert! There wasn't any food leftover when we finished! That's a first for me! We were there for the first time, ( definitely not the last ) to experience the debut of a superb new jazz band, BLT. Tom DePalma, Brad Ellis and Lee Jeffreys wowed the house with their sensational sounds of smooth jazz song after song throughout the evening. The atmosphere was magical and we all had a feel good time! I give Otto's 5 stars but if I could give them more, I would. 5 stars is the highest rating. Between the food, the band and the atmosphere of beautiful people, and perfectly dimmed lighting it was a night to remember! Great service with a smile was the cherry on top! Thanks to all for a fantastic...

Had a couples dinner here last night. Going in we knew the restaurant was brand new so we did not expect perfection but with the help our waitress Quinn and the restaurant manger it came very close. The restaurant was dealing with some staffing issues at the bar so when we arrived getting a drink took a long time. But once we got seated and brought the issue to the managers attention service improved a lot. We especially want to give a shout out to our amazing waitress Quinn. She was so professional and very knowledgeable about the food menu. All of her recommendations were spot on. Pretty much every dish we ordered tasted great! We had the cornmeal crusted oysters, prosciutto, sashimi and charr beef skewers and pizza board to start. The menu is eclectic but that’s because of the chef’s history in working in lots of different places. For our mains we had the salmon, Halibut, BBQ ribs and the Rigatoni pasta. They were all tasty but the homemade pasta was the star of the evening. For dessert we only ordered one dessert because we were pretty full. We shared the Peach Cobbler. It was a perfect end to a lovely...

I hesitated to write a one star review as I usually recommend 5 star standout restaurants. My local compadres in Piermont NY have been eagerly watching the transformation of the historic landmark Gas station ( 1920s) into what appeared to become another 5 ⭐️eatery! Sadly 2 of my friends and I had similar awful experiences . All 3 went on separate weekday early seatings around 5pm. We all were told no reservations needed just walk in . On weekdays the tables were empty and the wait staff and David a owner said SORRY we are FULL. And turned us away. We are local patrons and were dressed nicely . We were given no explanation ???and on one occasion saw another couple seated . I lost all taste for Ottos and won’t be back . This is no way for a restaurant to start off in Piermont which is well known for top cuisine. I can only guess that they don’t want the business. PS we waited a few weeks to allow a new restaurant to settle and purposely went early in the evening !

Great service and food. Restaurant was able to accommodate a table of 17 people without issue. Food all came out at about the same time and no one was left without a drink. Tuna Poke was the fan favorite due to the large portions and mild wasabi paste. Restaurant offers a number of non alcoholic cocktails which is always appreciated. Would recommend for a special occasion or casual dinner. Update 7/23/23: Dined here to celebrate parents 28th marriage anniversary and was once again impressed with the quality of the entrees. Paid in cash and was disappointed to see a 3% credit card fee had been added on the receipt. While 3% may not seem like a lot when there are 5 people it adds up. The issue was addressed when brought to the waiter's attention but still disappointed to see it is the standard to leave on the receipt.
