Forsythe Jewelers — Attraction in Town of Pittsford

This family owned jewelry store is the best. I had a channel set tanzynite ring purchased in carribean several years ago that became too small. Several local jewelers on the west side of Rochester said nothing could be done bc of the multiple stones in channel setting. I found Forsythe and chose to make the drive to the east side hoping for a miracle and it was found. They were able to ream down part of the silver setting just enough so I could wear again. I could not be happier. I have also had a few other valued pieces inspected and repaired. I can say that Whole Foods or Trader Joes was never worth the drive to the east side but I have been to Forsythe several times in the last few weeks and expect to be back again at Christmas. Forsythes' entire staff are friendly, down to earth, and welcoming. More importantly, I trust them. I know there will be no shady business of switching stones or anything of that sort. I had a great experience at Forsythe. I went to Forsythe base on a friend's recommendation after two other jewelers wouldn't return my phone calls. It was the best thing for me.

I sought out a jeweler to review some estate pieces to give me a sense of the value of the pieces with the intent of selling most. Janice was excellent to work with, informed me of what I had, and was honest about the quality. She did not sugar coat it when it came to pieces that were low level in quality and value, which it seems that other jewelers can be inclined to do to avoid disappointment people who thought they had valuable family heirlooms. I felt like I was working with someone who was honest and operating with integrity.

Word to the wise: don't schedule an appointment like this unless you are emotionally ready. While I found Janice to be efficient and direct (positives in my book), if you are not emotionally ready to part with some pieces, you may find her abrupt and a tad terse. The appointment was very easy to make online.
