I would like to highlight a pressing issue regarding the accessibility of workshops at the center. Since 2020, I have been eager to enroll in a pottery class but have faced repeated frustrations in doing so. The current registration policy, which allows members to register two to three days ahead of the general public, severely limits opportunities for newcomers. By the time registration opens to non-members, all classes are typically filled.
While I understand the center's desire to foster a loyal membership base and secure consistent revenue, it is crucial to recognize that many individuals—myself included—are genuinely interested in exploring pottery but have yet to take a class. Imposing a membership requirement only serves to exclude those of us who are keen to learn and participate.
I can certainly see the value of membership for individuals seeking after-hours studio access or discounted rates. However, the current structure not only restricts access to learning opportunities but also undermines the center's mission to promote artistic engagement. I urge you to reconsider the registration policy to ensure that all potential students, regardless of membership status, have a fair chance to partake in these valuable workshops.
