I’ll preface this review by stating that I and my family members who visited Gabriella’s on 11/1/25 are very intentional about supporting local businesses — especially women-owned business. I emailed Gabriella’s on 10/23/25 to hire the team to make a milestone birthday cake. I provided pictures and asked what the protocol was: if they could fulfill the order for our requested date, asked if we get to sample, etc. Gabriella emailed back and advised I can stop by and purchase cupcakes with the flavors we wanted to try, I then replied to advise that we’ll be stopping by on 11/1/25 to do so. This shop says it offers European charm in Binghamton. That is NOT what we experienced. It was not busy when we arrived: Gabriella was attending to a few people at the register, 2-3 people were seated, us 3 - including the birthday celebrant - walked in and stood at the front of the showcases (over 5 feet away from the register) and a family of about 5-6 people came in and stood behind us. We told the friendly worker who offered to help us why we were there re the cake order email exchange I’d had. When the worker told Gabriella, Gabriella loudly said that she “didn’t have time to speak” to us because she had a cake order to finish. She then said we should email, which lead me to believe she either wasn’t briefed re my email exchange or didn’t remember. The person ended each email by signing “Gabriella” and not “Gabriella’s.” I told her I did email near two weeks ago. Gabriella then, again, loudly asked for my name to find the email exchange, etc. When she did that, I noticed the family behind us left. I understand forgetting or not being familiar with an order request/email exchange, but Gabriella’s demeanor and words were off-putting. We left without wanting to order any samples or wanting to do business with her. I have been to MANY bakeries, chocolatiers, patisseries and similar shops in various U.S. and European cities — including in Belgium, France, Iceland and the UK. Those shops had an inviting atmosphere, the proprietors were welcoming, professional and their shops smelled delicious. Customer service isn’t just providing the baked goods, it needs to also include respect — even when you’re feeling overwhelmed. It’s not what you say or do, it is how it is said and done. I hope Gabriella takes this constructive criticism for what it is. May other potential customers have a much better experience at her shop /...
Read moreWe used Gabriella's cakes for our wedding on 5/25/25, and we couldn't have been more pleased. We came to Gabriella with no idea of what we wanted, other than our budget and estimated guest count, and she gently guided us towards the perfect wedding cake/dessert spread for us. She invited us up to the shop to grab a taster sample (which was exquisite). I went in thinking that I'd have a preference for the Oreo or Pink Champagne/Raspberry combos, but I was completely shocked to find myself falling head over heels for the lemon curd! It was so fresh and light, perfect for our spring wedding. Gabriella was super communicative regarding cake design, but after looking at her Instagram, I was happy to leave the design in her capable hands. We ended up with a very substantial multi-layer 8" cake and a large assortment of cupcakes all in the lemon curd flavor. She was even able to accommodate a set of vegan cupcakes and gluten free cupcakes so that all our guests would be taken care of (the vegan cupcakes were surprisingly popular - I wish I had gotten more). Coordinating payment and pickup was super easy, and I loved visiting the adorable shop. The staff were all warm, friendly and helpful. I only wish I was getting married all over again so we could keep coming in for...
Read moreAs a shop, this place is very cute. The cookies and some desserts can be excessively sweet. I tried the lemon and poppy seed cookies. I wouldn’t get it again. It was partially undercooked inside (similar in style to Crumbl), the topping was too much. I like the cannoli they carry. I’ll try other options, the cookie, at least that lemon curd one was too much for me. Their chocolate chip version looks fantastic along with their crème brûlée, I’d give those a try on my next visit. I love the idea of a beautiful new business and the custom cakes she makes look wonderful. 3/2025 Just came back to try the St. Joseph’s Pastry and Dubai chocolate brownie. The St. Joseph’s pastries are delicious and I find I favor her Italian specialties much more than other items. The Dubai chocolate that has taken the world by storm is not the same as this brownie but the idea is fun nod to that inspiration. It’s very sweet and dense and if you’re going to try it, share it with two other people the sweetness is strong. I loved the gold leaf on the top and the crunch of the Kataifi, very...
