8-Bit Bites — Restaurant in Town of Union

8-Bit Bites is a new and great little lunch/dinner spot where you can order some food and challenge your friends/family members to a video game while you wait/eat. 8-bit focuses their menu around quick fried food, like smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, and chicken fingers. All the food at 8 bit bites is halal, which is good that is not prepared with alcohol or pork products.

I do have to say, this is an incredibly neat concept for a lunch/dinner spot.

Our visit was on a Sunday around 12:30pm. The establishment was relatively slow.

8-bit bites has a kiosk where you can order food, or you can order with an attendant. We chose to order at the kiosk for this visit. We sat at a table and fired up one of the game emulators, which looks to be a raspberry pi with emulation software installed. The emulators available are for the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, various arcade games, and one or two more consoles that at this point I don't remember.

We sat and played some Mario until our name was called. The food came out hot and had good flavor. 8 bit bites has some delicious fries, and their burger's flavor reminded me of 5 guys. The only qualm I have with the food is with the drinks, having only cans available for most drinks at $2 per can. It's a bit of an upset that 8 Bit Bites doesn't have fountain beverages available. I get that fountain beverages may get utilized a bit more in this type of establishment due to patrons lingering to play video games, but $2 for a can of soda is a bit much. 8 Bit Bites also has shakes available, but we did not order any shakes on this visit.

Overall, 8-Bit Bites was a great lunch stop and a very neat concept for a restaurant. I can see us making more stops in the future for a bite to eat with some...

This review is based purely on the food, as I ordered through uber eats, so I cannot accurately rate the service and atmosphere.

I've been eyeballing this place for a couple months now and finally decided to order. I ordered the kebab loaded fries, a single smash, the mini boss smash and some extra sauces because I like things messy. 😆 The fries were on the bottom and I made sure to take a bite of each burger as I unpacked them. The first was the mini boss, which I ordered with a fried egg and omg, the happy food wiggles started immediately. It is soooo good with a fried egg on top. The regular smash burger is also good. Good quality toppings and the sauce adds an interesting layer of subtle flavor. The kebab fries are bomb, though I'm pretty sure it's just a couple of smash patties on top, so that's a little meh. As a whole they're very good though. I got a side of the Nashville hot sauce for the fries and I'll have to try that sandwich next time.

I did receive my order fairly quick, though I'm not sure how busy they were. And I don't really eat very often, so when I order I order a few things just for myself so it's a bit more expensive. 😅 2 burgers and some loaded fries, I'll probably get 2 meals out of it. You need cashiers with better time management, My milkshake was just that milk with no shake, the manager needs to be a lot more professional when dealing with customers, she should never give her employees the notion it's ok to make fun, disregard or disrespect a customer. My burger bun was soggy and the burger was bland. The potatoes are over seasoned/salted. You should take some of that seasoning and apply it to the burgers. The churrios were hard and over cooked under cinnamoned & sugared. There's some things you have to leave to the culture of people it comes from. Sooo by 4pm I was in the ladies room with stomach issues from that meal. I have a family member who recommended to try this place out cause he tried it in Brooklyn, NY and it was really good. I guess in order for me to experience this place in it's true light I will have to take a trip to the city.
